The Fender x Monster Hunter Wilds collaboration event is now live in Monster Hunter Wilds, alongside a new Event Quest and exclusive rewards. Event Quests, while not as flashy as new Title Update monsters, are still a big part of Monster Hunter Wilds’ post-launch roadmap. While most Event Quests tend to feature either a small piece of equipment, Decorations, or, in the off chance, new weapon schematics, the Fender collab’s quest is a bit different. Instead of offering some Decorations or Artian Parts, the Fender collab Event Quest comes with exclusive gestures as rewards. The gestures, naturally, are themed around Fender and their guitars.

However, getting these gestures isn’t as easy as it might seem. Here’s everything you need to know about the Fender collaboration gestures in Monster Hunter Wilds.

To get the exclusive Fender collaboration gestures, you need to complete the Event Quest, The Melodic Monarch. Similar to other Event Quests of the past, The Melodic Monarch is a High Rank hunting quest, which unlocks at HR 16+. As such, in order to even start the Event Quest, you need to complete Low Rank, reach High Rank, and then progress through the main story until you reach HR 16. After you’ve reached HR 16, you can start the Event Quest by talking to Alma or using any of the Pop-up Camps that you have unlocked. From there, simply complete The Melodic Monarch, and you will be rewarded with all the event-exclusive gestures.

Here’s a list of all the Fender x MHW collaboration gestures:

  • Fender Rathalos Telecaster 1
  • Fender Rathalos Telecaster 2
  • Fender Rathalos Telecaster 3

The Fender collaboration gestures essentially make your Hunter play Proof of a Hero on a guitar. It also has a similar animation for the Palico, if you have them deployed. You can equip these gestures on your Radial Menu for quick access. To edit your Radial Menu, you simply need to head to the options menu during gameplay. Additionally, you can access the Radial menu settings via the Pop-up Camp as well.

Rathalos in Monster Hunter Wilds isn’t particularly challenging. In fact, compared to the monster’s previous iterations, Rathalos here is significantly easier, as it can’t inflict poison. The only thing that can catch you off guard is the fire-beam combo, which is ripped straight out of Silver Rathalos’ movesets. To get an easy victory, simply bring a few Flash pods, Shock Traps, and Sonic Bombs to the quest. Rathalos can be stunned repeatedly using Flash Pods, making the monster significantly easier to defeat.
