Omega Planetes, the latest Title Update Monster in Monster Hunter Wilds, is an excellent addition to the game’s endgame. Although it’s part of the Final Fantasy 14 collaboration, Omega Planetes is still one of the best additions to the game in a long while. Not only does the new monster come with its own weapons, it has two entirely unique armor sets associated to its regular and “tempered” variants.

However, to craft these new sets, you will need parts from Omega itself. And one of the rarest resources from Omega is the Omega Nodule, which is the “gem” equivalent for this monster. Omega Nodules have an incredibly low drop rate. However, there are some easy ways to farm these resources.

Here’s everything you need to know about Omega Nodules in Monster Hunter Wilds, and how to obtain them.

Unlike Omega Lens and Omega Axle, the Nodules don’t have a guaranteed drop from a part break. Similar to monster “gems,” Nodules have an extremely low drop rate and are completely dependent on RNG. However, there are a few ways you can turn the tides of RNG in your favor. Omega Nodules have a drop rate of 2% as quest rewards and 3% as carving rewards.

However, with food buffs, you can increase the odds of getting at least one Nodule every 2-3 hunts. During our testing, we found the Kunafa Cuisine and Azuz Cuisine buffs to be incredibly helpful here. Although I had more success getting Nodules with the Kunafa Cuisine, one of my colleagues had better odds with Azuz. As such, your mileage may vary.

However, grabbing the food buffs is highly recommended before heading to fight Omega Planetes. Additionally, getting the food buffs also gives you Insurance Meal, which is always handy for tough monsters like Omega.

How To Farm Omega Nodules?

Defeating the regular Omega Planetes (8 Star) unlocks the Bale set, which comes with skills that are incredibly useful for the Great Sword. Whereas, if you manage to defeat the “Savage” variant of Omega, you will get access to the Omega Attire, which comes with skills that are useful for all weapon types. Altogether, you will need a total of 11 Omega Nodules to craft everything from Omega.

If you just want to craft the Bale set and the Shadowbringer Great Sword, you’ll still need 5 Omega Nodules. Considering the low drop rate, all that translates to a lot of grinding. However, if you want an easier way to farm Omega Nodules, we highly recommend hunting the regular Omega Planetes (HR 41).

Although not easy, the regular Omega is significantly more efficient when it comes to farming. With the right build and strategy, you can easily defeat Omega Planetes in under 20 minutes. Whereas, even the most optimal run against Omega Planetes (Savage) easily takes upwards of 30 minutes.
