Find out how you can save your game in Monster Hunter Wilds. Never lose your progress and jump back in from where you left off!

Monster Hunter Wilds takes you on a grand adventure, where you’ll face off against some of the most dangerous beasts ever in the series. One wrong move in the fights and you’ll be toast. That’s why it is crucial to save your game at regular intervals, or you may end up having to retrace your steps frequently.
In this guide, we’ll tell you how you can save your game throughout your journey.
How To Save Game in Monster Hunter Wilds?
You have two options when it comes to saving your game – manual saves and autosaves. The latter one happens automatically during key points across the story or your progression. Since there might be vast gaps between two autosave points, we highly recommend taking advantage of the game’s manual save feature. If you want to save your game manually, here are the steps you need to follow.
- Step 1: Open the pause menu and go to the ‘System’ tab.
- Step 2: There, you’ll discover the option to save manually. Choose the option.
- Step 3: Confirm that you want to save manually.
This simple process will complete the manual save of your game. However, the game will also prompt you to save manually when you want to exit the title. We suggest you always choose to save your progress when this prompt appears to ensure you never lose out on any of your progression since your last save point.

Are There Instances Where Manual Saving Isn’t Allowed?
There are certain portions of the game where you won’t be able to save manually. Usually, these restrictions come into place when you are out on a quest or a hunt. In these cases, you’ll have to rely solely on the autosave feature in the game. There’s only one autosave file in the game at one time. So, a new autosave will replace your older autosave progression. So, we’d suggest manually saving your game before venturing out on a quest or a hunt and saving again once the quest ends.
