The Monster Hunter Wilds Beta 2 is now live and accessible to all players looking to try the game before launch, even without PS Plus. You don’t need any subscription service like PS Plus or Xbox Game Pass to play Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta 2. However, keep in mind that this may only apply to the open beta of the game. Once the game is fully released in February 2025, you might need PS Plus to play online multiplayer.

You have a good reason to play the second open beta of Monster Hunter Wilds instead of waiting for the full release. All players who participated in the beta testing phase will receive the following rewards:

These rewards can be claimed when the full version of the game arrives. Keep in mind that you need to use the same platform account you used to play Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta 2. Your character creation data from the beta test will also be carried over to the full version of the game. This means you can customize your character to your heart’s content without having to worry about doing it all over again when the game is released.
