Capcom has finally unveiled everything players can expect from Monster Hunter Wilds’ upcoming title update 2 (TU2), including the new monsters. The details come courtesy of the recently held Capcom Showcase, which was followed up by a dedicated Monster Hunter Wilds event.

During the showcase, Capcom not only revealed a new trailer for TU2 but also revealed a ton of details regarding the new Festival of Accord and other new events coming to the game. Furthermore, the showcase also came with details on the new QoL features that players can expect from TU2. And judging from what Capcom has shown, title update 2 is shaping up to be the biggest addition to Monster Hunter Wilds since its release.

Here’s a look at all the major changes and additions coming to Monster Hunter Wilds with title update 2 (TU2).

New Monsters

With title update 2, Capcom is adding not one but two new monsters to Monster Hunter Wilds. We already knew about Lagiacrus, which was teased during TU1’s promotion. However, the second monster is a complete surprise, and admittedly a welcome addition to Monster Hunter Wilds’ roster. The new monsters are Lagiacrus and Seregios.

Both these monsters will be available to hunt once the update goes live. Additionally, much like TU1’s Mizutsune, both Lagiacrus and Seregios will be available to farm as Investigations and even 8-star Tempered hunts. However, to hunt these new monsters, you need to have reached Hunter Rank (HR) 31 and above.

Once you reach HR 31, you can accept the new quests for both Lagiacrus and Seregios. And after you’ve hunted these monsters in their respective story quests, you can encounter them in the “wild” (no pun intended), as part of Investigations.

In addition to Lagiacrus and Seregios, another new variant is being added to the game with Tu2, Arch-Tempered Uth Duna. Similar to Arch-Tempered Rey Dau, AT Uth Duna will be available at a later date as part of an event quest (and Challenge Quest). All the new monsters have new gear tied to them.

Even AT Uth Duna will have new Gamma armor sets tied to it, which can be crafted during the event quest.

New Features

With TU2, new quality of life (QoL) features are coming to Monster Hunter: Wilds. The biggest new addition is Layered Weapons. Essentially, with TU2 installed, once you have maxed out a specific weapon tree, you can apply its appearance to any other weapon (of the same weapon type).

For instance, if you have maxed out the Jin Dahaad Great Sword tree (Rarity 8), you can use its appearance on any other Great Sword in the game (including Artian Weapons). However, do note that in order to use Layered Weapons on Artian armaments, you need to first max them out.

This means you have to upgrade an Artian Weapon (Rarity 8 only) up to Level 5 to use Layered Weapons on it. In addition to Layered weapons, new features will be added to the game’s photomode, including Filters.

Furthermore, with TU2, players will be able to switch between Erik and Alma as the Handler. In addition to that, a new Support Hunter will be joining the roster with TU2, Mina. The new Support Hunter is proficient with Sword and Shield and is going to be an excellent choice for the new Tempered Monster hunts.

New Seasonal Event and Collaborations

Similar to TU1’s Blossomdance Seasonal Event, Monster Hunter Wilds is getting another new event with TU2, Flamefete. With the Flamefete Seasonal Event, there will be a ton of new cosmetics and gameplay-related additions to the game. There will be new dishes (food buffs), festival-themed decorations, limited-time cosmetics for Alma and the Seikret, and more.

Additionally, the event will come with new cosmetic rewards for you to unlock via Daily and Weekly Bounties. Furthermore, with TU2’s release, Capcom will release new collaboration events as well. The first of these collaborations is with Fender, which will offer new gestures and stickers for players to collect.

When Is Title Update 2 Coming to Monster Hunter Wilds?

Monster Hunter Wilds title update 2 (TU2) is scheduled to be released on June 30, 2025. The update will go live on all platforms (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC) at the same time. Additionally, ahead of the update’s release, the game’s servers will go offline for maintenance. Make sure to keep an eye on Capcom’s official social pages for details on server downtime and other similar updates.
