Everything you need to know about Monster Hunter Wilds’ title update 2 (TU2), including details on everything that has been confirmed so far.

Monster Hunter Wilds’ title update 2 (TU2) is just a few weeks away from release. Although Capcom did not announce a confirmed release date for the update, TU2 is expected to arrive at the end of June. Capcom even released an official statement confirming the update’s release window. While the Japanese developer tends to keep the contents of the title updates under wraps, that doesn’t seem to be the case for TU2. In fact, Capcom has been quite transparent when it comes to the new additions players can expect in title update 2. Monster Hunter Wilds desperately needs the title update 2 to be good and content-rich, especially after the somewhat lackluster TU1.
Thankfully, with everything Capcom has revealed so far, TU2 is shaping up to be just the thing fans have been waiting for since TU1. Here’s everything you need to know about Monster Hunter Wilds’ TU2.
What Is Included in Monster Hunter Wilds’ TU2?

QoL and Balance Changes
The title update 2 is packed with a ton of features that fans have been asking for, well, since the game’s release. TU2’s major focus seems to be on making the game much more enjoyable for returning players and reducing the points of friction that felt a tad unnecessary. Firstly, the title update 2 comes with new quality-of-life features such as reduced notification frequency across all regions, automatic inventory refill, etc. Additionally, the update will also allow players to rest at both the Grand Hub as well as Suja. Furthermore, resting at a camp will now automatically repair all destroyed Pop-Up Camps. Basically, there’s going to be less downtime between hunts and/or the actual gameplay.
Apart from QoL features, the update will also come packed with balance changes. The biggest change in that regard comes for the Hammer. In Monster Hunter Wilds, Hammer is quite good, perhaps more so than any previous Monster Hunter title. However, compared to any other weapon type in MHW, the Hammer still feels lacking. Firstly, in the current version of the game, the Hammer does not have a follow-up attack for offset. Furthermore, Hammer’s offset skill is also quite difficult to pull off, and not in a good way. When the Switch Axe’s offset attack is easier to perform than the Hammers, you know something isn’t working the way it should.
That said, this is something Capcom plans to address with TU2. Hammer is getting new offset initiation attacks. This means the offset won’t be tied to just the Overhead Smash combo anymore. In addition to that, with TU2, the Hammer is getting a new follow-up attack for the offset. Basically, with TU2, it’ll be the best time to give the Hammer a shot (if you haven’t yet done so).
Cosmetic Updates

Among the big new features coming to Monster Hunter Wilds with TU2 is Layered Weapons. This was something the Monster Hunter community has been asking for ever since the game’s release. Layered Weapons is a great option for endgame since that gives you an incentive to grind for monster parts for their weapons. Before that, you never really needed to do that due to the viability of the Artian Weapons. Also, with TU2, Capcom also plans to introduce some changes to the photomode. Additionally, there are also going to be some changes to the Seikret as well as the Handler’s (Alma) AI, so that they don’t interfere with gameplay.
New Monsters
Lastly, chief among the new additions for the title update 2 are, well, new monsters. Specifics for the new monsters have not been revealed yet. Nevertheless, based on the teaser Capcom released close to TU1’s launch, Lagiacrus is set to be the biggest new addition to the game with TU2. Additionally, Capcom has mentioned that they plan to add even more 8-star Investigations to the game, strengthening the endgame. Furthermore, with TU2, the 8-star variations will come with their own rewards, which will give players an incentive to hunt them.
Will TU2 Address the Issues With Monster Hunter Wilds?
From the looks of it, yes, it seems with TU2, Monster Hunter Wilds will be in a great position, in terms of its endgame. On release, MHW received praise from critics and players alike for its gameplay systems, combat, monsters, and upgrades over its predecessors. However, as players started to make their way to the endgame, their opinions started changing. Although with TU1, Capcom tried to bolster the endgame, it wasn’t enough. The biggest issue with the game right now is the lack of a proper endgame. Zoh Shia and Mizutsune were a great addition. But, they weren’t enough, especially when there’s no compelling reason in the base game to grind those monsters.
Capcom did add new 8-star variants of monsters in the most recent update. Nevertheless, once again, with no rewards tied to those hunts, there’s no compelling reason to go for those quests. Hopefully, with TU2, Capcom will finally address these issues.
When Is Monster Hunter Wilds TU2 Releasing?

As of the writing of this article, there is no confirmed date announced for the update. However, Capcom has confirmed that TU2 will be released at the end of this month, i.e., June 2025.
