These are the best overall settings for playing New World Aeternum at 1440p, on GPUs with up to 12GB of VRAM and beyond.

New World Aeternum is a highly intensive MMORPG game from Amazon Games. It is built using the Lumberyard engine (now known as O3DE) and requires beefy hardware to get a playable frame rate. Initially, the game had a rocky launch, with multiple reports suggesting it caused GPU overheating, particularly with models like the RTX 3090. However, after numerous updates and refinements, the game has improved significantly. It now features DLSS and FSR upscaling support.
Unfortunately, the game has engine-related CPU-bound issues. What we mean is that, regardless of your CPU’s power, you will encounter lower and inconsistent GPU usage. This is evident across multiple NPC-heavy regions, like Mrykguard, Ebonscale Reaches, and more.
As a solution, we are using DLSS Frame Generation on Nvidia hardware. For AMD and other GPUs, encourage users to install Lossless Scaling. This is because there is no FSR 3.1 frame generation available. Lossless Scaling FG is the only method that mitigates the engine’s inconsistent CPU usage and ensures proper GPU utilization. With that out of the way, below are the best settings to refer to.

New World Aeternum – Best Settings for 1440p

The recommended GPU power for 1440p starts with the AMD RX 6700 XT, Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti, and Intel Arc B580. If you have a higher-tier GPU, such as an RTX 4070 or RX 7800XT, you can adjust these settings to your liking.
For AMD GPU users with 12GB VRAM, we recommend monitoring VRAM usage, as FG via Lossless Scaling incurs an overhead. The same applies to Nvidia owners with 12GB of VRAM GPUs (RTX 3080, RTX 3080 Ti).
