These are the best overall settings for New World Aeternum, ready to be dialed in on any of your RTX 40 Series GPUs.
New World Aeternum utilizes the Amazon Lumberyard engine (now called O3DE) and has high system requirements. The game initially had a rocky launch, but after numerous updates, its performance has improved to average. With the default settings, the frame-time graph will be extremely inconsistent, full of micro stuttering, input lag, frame pacing, and rubber banding issues.
With the settings below, we have tuned the game to maintain its visual appeal while also fixing the performance. Soloing in regions like Ebonscale Reach, Brightwood, or the depths of Mrykgard will not have you bottlenecked by your system.
Note: New World Aternum is one of the few games that benefit significantly from frame generation. Regardless of your CPU’s power, you will experience frame time inconsistencies, resulting in micro-stuttering and jittery gameplay. We are using frame generation to address the engine’s CPU-bound issues, which in turn fixes the inconsistent frame time graph and ensures a seamless gameplay experience.

New World Aeternum – Best Settings for RTX 4060, RTX 4060 Ti, RTX 4070
For RTX 4050, 4060 Ti, and RTX 4070, we recommend playing at 1080p with these settings. With these settings, you will, however, reach around the 8GB VRAM usage mark after 2-3 hours of playing. 1440p is achievable with 4070, and you can expect VRAM usage to be around the 10GB mark.

New World Aeternum – Best Settings for RTX 4070 Super, RTX 4070 Ti, RTX 4070 Ti Super, RTX 4080, RTX 4080 Super, and RTX 4090
With the RTX 4070 Super, you can seamlessly play at 1440p and enjoy the game. However, from RTX 4080 and beyond, you can switch to 4K. A higher VRAM will suffice for 4K resolution, and since FG is enabled, the overall experience will be seamless.
