Everything you need to know about the pre-order and Deluxe Edition bonuses in Ninja Gaiden 4 and how to access them in-game.
Ninja Gaiden 4, much like its predecessors, is a straightforward action game. And much like any other game of this genre, the latest Ninja Gaiden features very limited customization options. Most of the customization in the game is relegated to weapon and character skills. That said, the game does have few costume options for both Yakumo and Ryu Hayabusa.
Unfortunately, most of the unlockable costumes are tied to New Game Plus and Purgatory trials. However, you can get a few exclusive cosmetics for Yakumo and Ryu right at the start of the game, i.e., via the pre-order and Deluxe Edition bonuses.

How To Access the Pre-Order and Deluxe Edition Bonuses in Ninja Gaiden 4?
To get access to the pre-order and Deluxe Edition bonus costumes, you need to progress through the opening chapter of Ninja Gaiden 4. Essentially, you need to complete Chapter 00 i.e., the prologue and reach Chapter 01. Once you start the first Chapter, you will eventually reach a DarkNest Terminal, which essentially serves as a remote “base of operations.”
The DarkNest Terminal is this game’s version of manual checkpoint. Once you active a DarkNest Terminal, the game auto-saves your progress. Furthermore, at the DarkNest Terminal you can claim all your pre-order and Deluxe Edition bonuses. Here are the steps to get the bonuses from the DarkNest Terminal:
- Access the DarkNest Terminal in Chapter 01. (You can claim the bonuses from any of the DarkNest Terminals)
- Scroll down to the Receive Content option.
- Under Receive Content, select all the pre-order and Deluxe Edition bonuses.
- You need to individually claim all the bonuses by pressing and holding the A (Xbox) or X (PS5) button on your controller.
Once you claim the bonuses, they will show up in your Inventory. To equip the costumes:
- Head to the options menu during gameplay.
- Navigate to the Equipment tab.
- Under Equipment, select Appearance.
- Under Appearance, you will find all available costumes for Yakumo and Ryu.
Do note that you cannot access costumes for Ryu Hayabusa until the later half of the game.
