Ninja Gaiden 4 is easily among one of the most anticipated games of this year, especially for action game fans. The series has been dormant for over a decade, with the only new entries in the Ninja Gaiden franchise being remastered collections. Surprisingly enough, after a long hiatus, developer Team Ninja came swinging with new Ninja Gaiden games this year.

The studio surprised fans with Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, which is a UE5 remake of Ninja Gaiden 2, with improved controls, visuals, and a few new surprises. And following the release of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, Team Ninja also announced the highly anticipated Ninja Gaiden 4, which is also slated to be released this year.

During the recent Xbox Games Showcase, Koei Tecmo and Xbox Game Studios finally revealed a confirmed release date for the fourth mainline Ninja Gaiden game. Along with the release date, the developers also revealed details on the game’s pre-orders. Here’s everything you need to know about Ninja Gaiden 4’s pre-orders, editions, and more.

Ninja Gaiden 4 is scheduled to be released on October 21, 2025. Although the game is published by Xbox Game Studios, it’s coming to all current-gen platforms, including PlayStation 5. Furthermore, on PC, the game is available via both Steam and the Microsoft Store.

On top of that, as is the case with most Xbox first-party releases, the game will be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one. However, do note that day one releases on Xbox consoles are only available to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. If you’re a subscriber of Xbox Game Pass PC, you will get access to day one releases without the Ultimate subscription tier.

Furthermore, there’s no early access incentive for pre-ordering the game. Regardless of whichever version you buy/pre-order, you will only be able to play the game starting October 21, i.e., the release date.
