This article explores everything that you need to know about the pre-order details for the Nintendo Switch 2 handheld device.
After years of speculation and floating leaks, Nintendo has surprised everyone with a shadow reveal trailer detailing the Switch 2. You read that right, the Nintendo Switch 2 has been officially revealed, and it promises a 2025 release. Although the exact release date is not known, Nintendo has been generous enough to provide a countdown for the Nintendo Direct, which will share more information.
If you are looking to pre-order the Nintendo Switch 2, you might want to know about the supposed prices. These have been making rounds on the internet for a while, with sufficient backing. In this article, we will explore all the details that we know about the Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order, including its supposed price and how much the games for this handheld device might cost as well.
What Do We Know About Nintendo Switch 2 and Can You Pre-Order It?
Right now, you cannot pre-order the Nintendo Switch 2. However, a post on the r/NintendoSwitch2 subreddit has gained quite traction, claiming to have accurate information on the price and pre-order details for the Nintendo Switch 2.
The post shows a Discord chat screenshot of a person who claims to be an employee of Micromania (a French retailer). According to this alleged worker, their store is ready to accept pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2, which will cost €399. The same Discord chat also provides information on the price of game cartridges for the Nintendo Switch 2. The storefront supposedly received a list of 25 provisional games for the Nintendo Switch 2, with prices varying from €69 to €79. Part of the original Discord chat from this employee reads:
“We received a list of 25 provisional games, with prices ranging from €69 to €79. The list of games is coded, and I can confirm that the price of the Nintendo Switch Online will increase.”
If what this employee said is correct, then at least 25 games are fully ready to be shipped with the Nintendo Switch 2. Furthermore, an increase in the Nintendo Switch Online (NSO) price can also indicate a change in the game prices. This might be significant since Switch 2 will be fully backward compatible as well.
The trailer dropped by Nintendo only confirms the Nintendo Switch 2 and shows its design. The company has not revealed any information on its release date, prices, or when you can officially pre-order it. However, they did provide a countdown to the Nintendo Direct, which will reveal more information.
Nintendo Direct takes place on April 2, 2025, and it might finally provide pre-order details for the Nintendo Switch 2. For now, all you can do is wait in anticipation and hope to get your hands on this device at the earliest.
