Nvidia RTX 5060 vs Radeon RX 7600: Detailed Comparison

The Nvidia RTX 5060 is based on the latest Blackwell architecture and is designed to deliver the best performance in the budget category. On the other hand, the AMD Radeon RX 7600 is based on the older RDNA 3 architecture and is designed to provide more value. Let’s check out the specs of the two GPUs before we begin comparing them.

According to the specs table, the Nvidia RTX 5060 has a significantly higher number of shader cores and faster GDDR7 memory. However, AMD GPUs historically had fewer shader cores than their Nvidia counterparts, but still managed to be quite competitive or even beat them in some cases. Will that be the case here? Let’s find out.

Performance Comparison

Here’s how Nvidia RTX 5060 and AMD Radeon RX 7600 perform in some popular games:

GamesNvidia RTX 5060AMD Radeon RX 7600
Assassin’s Creed Shadows56 FPS48 FPS
Black Myth: Wukong69 FPS53 FPS
Cyberpunk 207796 FPS72 FPS
Forza Horizon 5118 FPS98 FPS

Red Dead Redemption 295 FPS73 FPS
Silent Hill 2 Remake54 FPS36 FPS
The Last of Us Part 193 FPS75 FPS
The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered110 FPS85 FPS

Note: The two GPUs tested here were evaluated at a 1080p resolution with High/Ultra Settings, unless otherwise specified. All the FPS numbers were sourced from the PC Support & Gaming Test channel on YouTube. For the tests, the two graphics cards were paired with an Intel Core i5 12400F CPU, which shouldn’t bottleneck the budget GPUs here.

On average, the RTX 5060 is 31.4% more powerful than the Radeon RX 7600. Therefore, the former will deliver more FPS in your favorite games. Nvidia GPUs are also better at ray tracing and will deliver even more FPS than the Radeon card.

Older AMD Radeon graphics cards were not very good at ray tracing, which the company improved with RDNA 4 GPUs, but the Radeon RX 7600 is not an RDNA 4 card. Therefore, it is not a good choice for ray tracing. The RTX 5060 is not a powerful ray tracing GPU either, but it should be a lot better than the Radeon RX 7600.

Price Comparison

The Nvidia RTX 5060 is selling for $299.99 on Amazon, while the Radeon RX 7600 sells for $229.99 on Amazon. Therefore, the former is 30.4% more expensive.

Final Verdict on Nvidia RTX 5060 vs Radeon RX 7600

The Nvidia RTX 5060 delivers around 31% more FPS than the Radeon RX 7600, but it is also around 30% more expensive. Even though the former is faster, it has lost the value proposition. Therefore, it is difficult to recommend either without context. Which GPU you should purchase will heavily depend on your requirements and pricing.

If you want the best performance and can cough up $299.99, go with the RTX 5060. However, if you are on a tighter budget and willing to accept a little sacrifice in performance, then the Radeon RX 7600. Overall, they are both good GPUs in their respective price bracket.
