The Dark Brotherhood in Elder Scrolls IV is an infamous group. Their mysterious nature and shrouded morality draw many players towards them. The Black Medicine quest is part of this faction’s questline in the game. Players must poison an individual to complete the objective in this storyline.

It is not the easiest mission to do, since to get the bonus for it, players will have to complete the entire quest with stealth. The developer made this mission specifically with a sneaky approach in mind. So, here is a complete walkthrough of the Black Medicine quest in Oblivion Remastered.

How To Complete The Bad Medicine Quest in Oblivion Remastered

In the Bad Medicine quest, your primary objective will be to infiltrate Fort Sutch without getting seen. It is considered to be one of the more difficult Dark Brotherhood questlines. So, we highly recommend getting the Invisibility or the Chameleon spell beforehand. Additionally, if you have the Shadow birthsign, then you will be able to use the Chameleon once per day.

Players can take many different approaches during this mission. You can use the spells mentioned to gain a stealth boost and move around the area undetected, which is regarded as the most convenient way. Or you can sneak up and strike them down without being seen. If you are leaning more towards the latter approach, then you will have to rely on your archery and blade assassination skills.

Fortunately, the absence of good lighting in Fort Sutch will aid both of the approaches. Additionally, players won’t necessarily need a high stealth stat for this mission, but it can certainly help. You can practice stealth during other side quests or activities to boost your numbers.

Infiltrate Fort Sutch and Kill Roderick

Now that you are fully prepared, follow the marker and reach the objective location. After that, head towards the west side of Fort Sutch. You will find Roderick’s Quarters at the back. Break into your target’s room, locate the cabinet, and place the poison there. After that, all you will have to do is wait. Alternatively, if you are not concerned with the bonus reward, you can just kill Roderick and be done with it.

Once your victim is dead, go back to Ocheeva and collect your reward. If you have completed the mission while being undetected the entire time, then you will also get The Deciever’s Finery outfit as a bonus. This unique equipment has Fortify Personality and Speechcraft.
