In Oblivion Remastered, the Canvas the Castle quest begins in Chorrol. Once you arrive in the city, you must arrive at the Chorrol Castle on the eastern side. Next, head inside the castle to talk to Countess Arriana Valga.

She will inform you about a missing painting of her late lover. Also, Arriana will seek your help in retrieving the painting. In return, she will reward you upon the successful completion of the objective. At last, she hands you a key and the Canvas the Castle quest will officially start.

Gathering Intel From the Suspects

Countess Arriana Valga mentions that the painting was stolen from the chamber, and she doubts the people who can access it. There are a total of five suspects to be investigated. Here are their detailed locations:

  • Laythe Wavrick: You can find him in the same room where you spoke with Countless Arriana Valga.
  • Chanel: She is in her chambers on the first floor of the castle.
  • Orok gro-Goth: He is also on the same floor. From Chanel’s room, take two consecutive rights; Orok’s room will be on the left.
  • Orgnolf: You have to cross the Great Hall to reach the private quarters on the first floor, where you will find Orgnolf.
  • Bittneld: Head downstairs and locate him in the Barracks.

Collecting the Evidence

After talking with the suspects, it is time to gather clues. You have to discover and examine three things in the castle. These are:

  • Carpet: Head to the castle’s dining area and examine the carpet to discover paint stains.
  • Chanel’s lectern: To discover the next piece of evidence, head to Chanel’s room and examine the lectern.
  • A strange painting: As Bittneld mentioned, Chanel was last seen near the castle’s west tower. Once you reach there, you will find a floor trapdoor near some boxes. Head downstairs, and you will find a unique painting.

Finding the Culprit

At this stage, you must accuse the suspect based on your conversations and the evidence you have collected. Bittneld’s testimony, the discovery of Lectern in Chanel’s room, and her inconsistent story all clearly suggest that she is the one who took the painting.

However, simply finding the culprit is not enough to convince Countess Arriana. You also need to get the confession. To do this, you should use a charming spell and offer bribes to her to make her admit the truth.

Collecting the Rewards of Canvas the Castle Quest

Once Chanel confesses, speak with Countess Arriana and inform her of Chanel’s action to receive a reward of gold and gems. However, if you do not turn in Chanel, she will give you a beautiful painting.

That was all about Canvas the Castle Quest in Oblivion Remastered.
