Players might get lost in the various side quests in Oblivion Remastered, but that does not mean that the main missions are any less interesting. The Dagon Shrine is part of the main questline in the game, and it includes some interesting tasks. Don’t worry, this mission does not feature puzzles or long journeys. However, players will have to fight a lot of enemies during this storyline. In the Dagon Shrine Quest, you will be tasked with infiltrating an enemy shrine. But that is not the main concern. Because at some point in the game, players will relinquish all of their gear, and if they don’t remember to retrieve it later on, it will be lost forever.

How To Start The Dagon Shrine Quest in Oblivion Remastered

The Dagon Shrine takes place after the first three main missions. Which means, you will have to go through “Find the Heir”, “Weynon Priory”, and “The Path of the Dawn” first. Once you have made the quest active in your journal, you will notice a marker appear on a cave, north of Cheydinhal. After you reach and enter the cave, you will meet a fellow named Harrow. He will ask you to hand over all of your gear, just like we discussed earlier. He will also give you a robe to wear.

We highly recommend that you remember his face, because you will have to retrieve your items from him later. After you have relinquished all of your equipment, follow Harrow deeper into the shrine, and then listen to the mentor’s speech. Once the Mentor is gone, go up the stage and speak to Ruma. The end of this quest results in a battle, and you cannot change it. However, if you obey Ruma, then you will encounter fewer enemies in the end.

The primary objective of this quest is to steal the book that is on the ritual stage. But doing so will blow your cover, so you will have to keep calm for now. After that, Ruma will force you to sacrifice an innocent person. If you accept, then after the sacrifice, most NPCs will start leaving the shrine until there are only three people. This outcome makes stealing the book a lot easier. However, it comes at the cost of an innocent life. Nevertheless, if you dare to refuse, everyone in the room will attack you.

Once you have stolen the book, kill Harrow and everyone else there. As we said, this part would be a lot easier if there were only three people in the room. But we will leave that choice to you. After Harrow’s death, loot his body and retrieve all your equipment. Now that you have the book and your gear, search Ruma’s body, and you should find a key. That key opens the Iron Gate just up the stairs. So, go there and use it. After that, you can simply follow the quest marker and make your way out of the Cave.

However, on your way back to Martin, in the castle north of Bruma, you will encounter more hostile situations, but it would be a lot easier with your gear and equipment. Lastly, remember that you will find a handle on your way out, which opens the exit route.
