In The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, you create a playable hero and fill the role of the Hero of Kvatch. Being a capable hero doesn’t mean your character is immune to fatigue. It is best to figure out how the in-game mechanic of fatigue works to prevent losing energy in dire situations.

This article will be a comprehensive guide about the in-game fatigue system and share a few tips and tricks to maximize your character.

The fatigue system in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is no different from real life. Your character is only human, and they get exhausted after difficult tasks. Fatigue is one of the three meters you must monitor throughout your playthrough.

Your character’s fatigue meter will drain if you continue to push their physical capabilities. Basic activities like sprinting and fighting can cause fatigue. Everything your character does will be much weaker than normal. It is worth noting that gear can inadvertently affect your character’s fatigue, depending on the weight of a certain item, like armor.

Your heavy attacks will be much weaker, and extended fight encounters will do you no good. Low fatigue can make your character more susceptible to incoming attacks and stagger you in a fight.

Increasing your character’s Willpower attribute is one of the best ways to improve fatigue. Bethesda Game Studios reworked the immersive mechanics and narrowed a character’s fatigue to Willpower more than other attributes. You can increase your Willpower by spending your virtues on that specific attribute. To acquire more virtues, accomplish quests, and you will have enough experience points for virtues. It is a wise investment that will help you in later sections of the story.

Another way to prevent your fatigue meter from dropping is to consume potions. Potions can be purchased from local merchants or looted from the remains of defeated enemies. If you intend to set out and explore Cryodiil, it would be best to have a decent supply of potions in case of emergencies. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered made a few changes to the original version, and fatigue is a necessary improvement.
