The world of Oblivion Remastered is home to several ancient catacombs and underground complexes known as Ayleid ruins. These harbor valuable treasures and undead enemies. Moreover, there are many quests related to them. Another reason to venture into these trap-laden labyrinths is to complete The Collector quest by gathering all the Ayleid Statues. Doing so will help in raking in tons of gold.

However, these ruins can be very tricky to navigate, and none are trickier than Wendir. Containing two consecutive zones, Wendir has frustrated players not because of its maze-like corridors, but for the difficulty in getting out of the dungeon itself. Let us go through two alternatives for escaping Wendir after looting it completely.

How To Exit Wendir in Oblivion Remastered

Once you have cleared Wendir of enemies and picked up the Ayleid Statue, you can manually make your way out of the ruins rather than fast-traveling out. At this point, there are two paths available for your escape. The first is to take the long way out by partially retracing your steps. The second is to parkour using the half-broken pillars and nearby ledges to reach the upper floor for a shortcut escape.

Straightforward Route

  • From the final chamber with the Ayleid Cask at its center, head through one of the doors on the south side, which leads to a room with skeletons, stone benches, and a chest-like Ayleid cask.
  • Turn left, head down the stairs, and turn left again to open the stone door to Wendir Nagasel.
    • The door is the same one seen in the article’s featured (first) image.
  • In the next room, pass through the northeastern passage. Watch out for the spike trap in the center of the room.
  • Climb the stairs to the north, run through the poison cloud, and turn left after ascending the stairs ahead.
  • Turn right past the first row of pillars, stick to the right side of the wall in the next room, and take the passage at its end.
  • Once on the balcony, take the first exit to the right which reads “Stone Door to Wendir.”
  • Ascend the stairs, jump down to the right, and head straight to pass through “The Stone Door to The Great Forest.”
  • You have successfully exited Wendir and can now fast-travel.

Acrobatics Route

If your acrobatics skill is high enough, you can use the pillars in the room to jump directly to the balcony and exit Wendir.

  • Climb the broken pillar in the eastern corner of the final dungeon room.
  • Jump to the column to the west.
  • Leap onto the ledge to the north and climb up to the balcony.
  • Head left, lockpick the door, and reach the forest exit.
