Azura’s Star in Oblivion Remastered acts as a reusable grand soul gem, essential for recharging enchanted items without burning through gems.

Azura’s Star is a valuable Daedric artifact that functions as a reusable grand soul gem in Oblivion Remastered. Regular soul gems are destroyed when used to either create enchanted items or recharge them. Azura’s Star returns to your inventory after it is used instead of being destroyed. It can then be filled with a soul again using Soul Trap, preferably on a target with a grand soul.

To obtain Azura’s Star, you have to complete Azura’s Daedric quest. You can initiate the quest by venturing to the Shrine of Azura. The shrine is located near the northeastern corner of the map, directly north of Lake Arrius. Speak to Mels Maryon at the shrine to begin the quest.

Azura’s Daedric Quest Guide

Completing Azura’s quest involves gathering Glow Dust and killing vampiric worshippers of the Daedra to receive Azura’s Star.

Offer Glow Dust

After talking to Mels Maryon, interact with the shrine and offer Glow Dust at around sunrise (6-7 am) or sunset (6-7 pm). Upon receiving the offering, the deity speaks to you directly and asks you to bring the “peace of death” to her followers in the Gutted Mine.

Kill Worshippers in Gutted Mine

Follow the quest marker southwest to the Gutted Mine. Fight your way through the mine and kill the first three Afflicted Brethren while watching out for traps. On the west side of the mine, pull the rope with two dangling stones to open the rock wall.

Defeat the two Afflicted Brethren inside and return to the Shrine of Azura. You may have contracted Porphyric Hemophilia after taking hits from the Afflicted Brethren. Pray at an Altar of the Nine in a chapel to cure it.

After you return to Azura’s Shrine, interact with it at the aforementioned dawn and dusk times. This will complete the quest and reward you with Azura’s Star. Use Azura’s Star as a convenient tool for replenishing the charges on your enchanted items.

Apply Soul Trap on an enemy near death, and kill them to fill Azura’s Star. Find Azura’s Star in your inventory and select it to open a menu of all your enchanted items that can be recharged by it. Azura’s Star can capture the souls of all living targets except for NPCs, which require a black soul gem. Keep in mind that if you have other empty soul gems in your inventory, weaker souls will fill them first.
