In Oblivion Remastered, you’re constantly on the search for better weapons that’ll deal more damage to your enemies. This is especially true if you’re playing as a close-quarters combatant, using either one-handed or two-handed weapons. In these scenarios, you need to end the fight quickly or risk taking too much damage.

One of the most useful one-handed weapons in the game is the Mace of Molag Bal. However, you can acquire it only after completing a side quest. In this game, we’ll explain how you can get the Mace of Molag Bal in Oblivion Remastered. We’ll also dive into the special effects and damage stats of the weapon.

To get this mace, you’ll need to first complete a quest for the Daedric Prince of domination, Molag Ball. Head west of the Imperial City Stables after you reach at least Level 17. There, you’ll discover a Shrine to Molag Bal. You will have to bring a Lion’s Pelt as an offering for the Daedric Prince. After that, Molag Bal will talk to you and ask you for a favor. Your task is to take a cursed mace from Molag Bal and somehow make a paladin named Melus Petilius kill you with that particular mace. The catch is that Petilius has sworn off fighting after the death of his wife.

So, the task can seem tricky at first. However, all you need to do is find Melus Petilius’s house near Brindle Home. There, you’ll also find his wife’s grave. Simply drop the cursed mace on the grave site. Then, wait for Petilius to arrive at the grave at 11 am. When he’s mourning over his wife’s grave, attack him, but don’t kill him. This will cause Petilius to attack you back with the cursed mace. Do not defend yourself, as you need to die at his hands for the Molag Bal quest to progress.

After you die, Molag Bal will teleport you back to his shrine. After that, interact with the Daedric Prince’s statue and talk to him. He’ll provide you the Mace of Molag Bal as a reward for completing the quest.
