As you continue playing Oblivion Remastered, you’ll notice that your armor and weapons’ durability decreases. If left unchecked, these items can permanently break and become unusable. It’s important to regularly repair any damage to your favorite armor pieces or weapons.

While armorers and weaponsmiths can handle these repairs for a fee, you won’t always find them while exploring the world. That’s why it’s essential to carry and use the Repair Hammer in Oblivion Remastered to keep your items in top condition.

Repair Hammers are quite common in the game. You may find them inside random crates, chests, or simply lying around on tables. Each Repair Hammer weighs 1 unit, and you can use each one only once before it breaks. Therefore, it’s a good idea to carry a few with you at all times. If you don’t have any Repair Hammers on hand, you can also purchase them from armor and weapon stores throughout the game.

When you have a Repair Hammer, open your inventory screen. Go to the second-to-last tab, which lists all your Miscellaneous items. From there, find the Repair Hammer and left-click on it. This will open the Repair Screen. Then, choose the weapon or armor piece you’d like to repair. Doing so will consume one hammer and restore some of the durability of the selected item.

Keep in mind that at the beginning of the game, you won’t be able to repair some items yourself. As you continue playing and repairing lower-level items, you’ll level up your Armorer Skill. With a high enough Armorer Skill, you can repair even enchanted weapons and armor in your inventory. At the highest levels, you can increase item durability beyond its maximum, up to 125%.
