Players must enter an NPC’s dream and bring them back to the real world in the Through a Nightmare, Darky quest in Oblivion Remastered.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has many different quests and side quests sprinkled around the world. During your playthrough, you can also stumble upon an optional mission near Bravil, which will be entirely based on a rumor. As you explore the details regarding this quest, you will get to know that someone is stuck inside of their dreams and needs help.
This premise alone can make anyone intrigued, and the fact that this is a completely optional mission makes it even more tempting. So, if you want to complete the Through a Nightmare, Darkly quest in Oblivion Remastered, follow this guide.
How To Complete Through a Nightmare, Darkly Quest in Oblivion Remastered

To start the Through a Nightmare, Darkly quest, you must ask NPCs for rumors in Bravil. You might not get the mission straightaway at first, but if you are persistent, eventually, you will hear words about an Argonian named Kud-Ei. This individual is a member of the Mage Guild and is looking for a friend who went missing.
However, when you speak to Kud-Ei herself, you will find out that her friend did not go missing, but he is stuck in an endless dream. If you then choose to help the Argonian, she will lead you to her Henantier, her friend. To enter the trapped individual’s dream, you will then need to sleep in the bed next to him. Once you are prepared, get the Dreamworld Amulet from Kud-Ei and go to sleep next to Henantier.
Once you are in the Dreamworld, you will discover that Henantier is stuck there because he lost four aspects of his sanity. These include Patience, Courage, Perception, and Resolve. Now, you must complete four different tests that symbolize these four elements of sanity to get Henantier out of his entrapment.
The Test of Patience

Once you start the first trial, the Test of Patience, you will find a container, and inside it will be a scroll with symbols. The Scroll will turn out to be a map, and you must use it to carefully navigate through a series of booby traps. Moreover, as you progress, you will discover that this test has three separate puzzles, and as you go through each of them, the difficulty increases.
To make sure that you avoid all the booby-trapped pressure plates, examine the scroll and follow the path that is marked by the identical symbols. However, if you are struggling with this segment, here’s a breakdown of each of the puzzles.
First Puzzle
Once you come across the first puzzle, begin with the pressure plate to your left. Then, go onto the plate right in front of it, and move to the left tile from there. After that, simply walk in a straight line to the other side.
Second Puzzle
Once you are in front of the second set of pressure plates, step onto the first two tiles. Then, move two tiles to the left and two tiles in front again. After that, step onto the tile to your right and move onto the one in front of it. Then go to the tiles to your right yet again, and move one tile up to reach the other side safely.
Third Puzzle
The third and final puzzle is the hardest. To solve it, first, go three tiles up from the starting point. Then, move four tiles to your right. Again, walk two tiles to the front from there. After that, you have to go one tile to the right and then two tiles up. From that place, cross three tiles to your left, take one step down, and then go four tiles to the left. Lastly, cross the two tiles in front of you to reach safety.
The Test of Courage

The Test of Courage during the Through a Nightmare, Darkly quest in Oblivion Remastered has to be the easiest among the rest. Once you start this trial, you will come across a tunnel. Before you head into it, remember to take the Weak Potion of the Sea from the nearby container. After that, jump into the water and keep following the linear path of the tunnel. If you ever feel like you are out of air, drink the potion you picked up earlier and finish the test.
The Test of Perception

To get the Perception part of Henantier’s sanity, you must go through a path riddled with booby traps. However, unlike the Test of Patience, this time you will need to use your parkour skills. Start this trial by searching the container nearby and picking up the torch from it. After that, simply go through the path in front of you.
Remember that you must carefully navigate through the booby-trapped pressure plates as you progress. In addition to that, you will also encounter falling debris and some platforming sections from time to time. So, have some patience, and move through the path carefully to complete the Test of Perception.
The Test of Resolve

The Test of Resolve gives you a set of armors and different weapons as you start this trial, since this time you will be in combat encounters. After starting this test, you will have to fight some Dreamworld Minotaurs. The enemies will have lower levels than you, but still, we highly recommend using the staff in this encounter to defeat them from a safe distance.
Take Henantier Out of the Dreamworld
Once you have passed all four tests and have every aspect of Henatier’s sanity, return to him. After that, you can leave the Dreamworld with the NPC by speaking to him. Also, if you decide to attack Hentantier for some reason, remember to make a quick save before you do so, because if he dies in the Dreamworld, you will die as well.
