The Find the Heir bug is a new bug plaguing Oblivion Remastered, but thankfully, it can be fixed with a few simple steps.

The original Oblivion is a beloved game that charmed many players upon release, and has increasingly continued to do so in the years since. A lot of the charm came from its goofy voice acting, absurd NPCs, bugs, and much more. Oblivion Remastered retains most of this charm, ensuring the spirit of the original remains intact. In doing so, however, the Remastered has gone a step beyond what was expected and is now suffering from a quest-ruining bug.
The “Find the Heir” bug is a bug that shows up during the Find the Heir quest in Oblivion Remastered. This bug halts progress during one of the main story sections of the game and can lead to frustration. In this article. We shall go over the bug in detail and provide a fix for the same.

What Is the Find the Heir Bug in Oblivion Remastered

The infamous “Find the Heir” bug is a bug that pops up during the quest of the same name. In this quest, you head over to the city of Kvatch in search of the Emperor’s heir. The heir, Martin, works as a priest in the Chapel in the city, which is now under siege by the Daedra.
As you make your way through the war-torn city and close the Oblivion Gates, you stumble across Savlian Matius. Matius aims to break the siege of the castle, letting out a warcry to charge the courtyard. This is where the bug kicks in.
“Charge the courtyard” echoes through the area but Matius remains stuck to his position, not moving an inch. This bug can halt your progress, forcing you to maybe restart from much earlier on if you’re not generous with the saves. Thankfully, there is a way to work around this bug and fix the issue.
