The One Piece anime series is arguably the most popular shonen series at the time of writing. Eiichiro Oda’s writing prowess has led to the creation of a world that is beloved by millions across the globe. The manga series has been progressing for over 25 years, which is a massive feat that only a handful of titles can boast.

Given the sheer length of the series, there are numerous story arcs that new fans will encounter. Naturally, this can be quite intimidating because there are over 1000 episodes to watch before catching up to the anime’s weekly release.

What Are the Shortest And the Longest One Piece Arcs?

There are numerous filler arcs in the series that last a duration of about 2-3 episodes. The likes of Foxy’s Return or Silver Mine arc can be considered the shortest. However, the Wano Country arc is the longest one so far. Additionally, the arc is considered to be among the most entertaining. Anime-only fans can expect to witness one of the best battles in the series as Luffy takes on Kaido. Furthermore, the animation studio went above and beyond with the fight choreography and the overall animation.

Should You Skip Any One Piece Arcs?

Fans can choose to skip the filler arcs. However, the G-8 filler arc is entertaining and worth watching. As for the canon episodes, we recommend that new viewers watch everything. Plenty of netizens have admitted to skipping the Skypeia arc, but its importance was revealed later in the series. Eiichiro Oda is infamous for connecting two events that take place hundreds of episodes apart. Therefore, all the canon episodes must be watched to have an optimal viewing experience.

In Conclusion

The One Piece series has a ton of content for new fans to watch. With that said, the plot progression is seamless, making this series an entertaining watch. We urge the fanbase to watch all the episodes that are canonical to the manga. There are a couple of entertaining filler arcs as well, but those aren’t particularly necessary to understand the story.
