This Outer Worlds 2 walkthrough will take you through “A Final Death for Gravity,” a quest that nets you the double-jump gadget.

Outer World 2’s A Final Death for Gravity quest presents you with a rather horrifying situation in an absurdly amusing way. Three people are stuck atop a tower, and they now have a double-jump gadget that they plan to use to escape. The escape attempt goes horribly wrong, and now your job is to help them get down by using the double-jump gadget.
A Final Death for Gravity is a fairly short quest, but it is most notable for the double-jump gadget it grants you. This adds a new layer of movement to your gameplay and is well worth the time. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the entire quest so you can get the gadget for yourself.

Unlocking the Quest

You unlock the “A Final Death for Gravity” quest by visiting Spire Grove in Paradise Island. This location of interest is directly west of Fairfield. Head to the location, and you’ll hear someone shouting, “No, Jackson, don’t…!” Another NPC, Jackson, will then jump off the tower, fully confident in the ability of his anti-gravity boots, and will crash horribly next to you. Walk over to Jackson’s corpse and interact with the Crumpled Corpse.
Interacting with the corpse will initiate a short cutscene, and the people on the tower will then ask you to check if Jackson’s okay. One of the NPCs, Acquisitional Integrator Othaham, will then reveal that the boots were not anti-gravity boots, but instead boots that help the user jump repeatedly.
Othaham and her colleague have been stuck atop the tower for a while, and now need help. To get down, they need an overloader device, and that’s what you need to find.

Wrap up the conversation and interact with Jackson’s corpse to loot the “Recovered Schematics” and “P.A.L.E” item. P.A.L.E, or Plasma Augmented Leap Enhancer, is a gadget that allows you to double-jump. Equip this double-jump gadget and go to the base of the tower. Then, look to your right and you’ll see a platforming route.
Use your newly acquired double-jump gadget to traverse this route and reach the top. Here, you’ll find the Drive Overloader. Take the device and then turn around, and you’ll find another platforming route. Use this route to reach Othaham.
