The Elderwood expansion of Palia opened up a brand new zone for players. And, with a new area comes loads of new resources to forage. While some of them are easily available almost around every corner, Batterfly Beans isn’t one such resource. In fact, it can be extremely tricky to get your hands on these items if you don’t know where to look.

In this guide, we explain how you can collect Batterfly Beans in Palia easily and how you can use them in the game.

Batterfly Beans are the small green plants that have pink berry-like fruits hanging on them. Generally, you’ll find these plants near the base of the larger trees in the Elderwood region. You’ll need to collect quite a few of the Batterfly Beans during some of the quests in the Elderwood expansion. Look for the plant in the Mitana Grove, Deep Woods, Honeymiel Slope, and Jenesse Pass region.

Interact with the plant to receive 1x or 2x Batterfly Beans. Besides that, you might also get a bag of Batterfly Bean seeds. You can plant these in any 2×2 plot that you have available. The rare plant will take around six days to grow fully.

As we mentioned previously, there are a couple of quests in the game where you’ll need to forage the Batterfly Beans. For instance, the optional quest from Chayne, Magic and Magi, will require you to collect 10x Batterfly Beans. While you can sow the plant’s seeds if you have them on your housing plot, it takes six days to grow. During that time, you’ll have to water the plant regularly and prevent weeds from taking over. So, harvesting Batterfly Beans is a long and arduous process, especially when you have to collect so many of them.

Apart from its use in completing quests, you can also consume the resource. Eating the beans will restore 15 Focus Points. However, due to the plant’s rarity, we recommend holding on to them to complete the associated quests rather than consuming them. There are many other common items you can consume to restore your Focus Points when necessary.
