The free Elderwood expansion for Palia added a significant amount of new content to the game. From major main storyline quests to optional secrets to discover, players can spend several hours exploring the new zone the expansion unlocks. One of the new activities that the game introduces is the Umbraan Shrines.

These are the white statues that dot the Elderwood region. You can identify them by their purple and blue flowers and vines that intertwine with the statues. In this guide, we’ll explore how you can find the Umbraan Shrines in Palia and how you can use them.

The Elderwood map has 15 Umbraan Shrines in total. However, at the moment, you can only access 14 of them. The last one could be inside Vendruu Way, which is a part of the map that’s locked at present. The remaining shrines are hidden away, so be sure to look for them under every nook and cranny.

Some of them are inside caves, while others might be behind a waterfall. Others are in easier-to-spot locations, such as on top of a cliff. You will need to scour the entire Elderwood zone carefully to locate each of these shrines. Once you discover any of the shrines, their location will be marked on your map until you are able to activate it.

You will need to approach each shrine and interact with it. Once you do, the game will tell you what offering you need to make to unlock that shrine. Usually, most shrines will require you to offer 1x Sacred Flower. However, some of the shrines may require 2x Sacred Flowers to activate.

You can get Sacred Flowers from various sources in the Elderwood region. For instance, you can hunt Piksii Shmoles and Waveback Ogopuus to get Sacred Flowers. Or, you may find some while completing quests. However, the easiest way to get these is to buy them from Tamala. You can exchange 350x Infected Essence at her shop to get 1x Sacred Flower.

Activating each Umbraan Shrine by making the required offering will give you either a resource mystery bundle or a mystery artifact bag. You will need to activate all 15 of these shrines to earn the Paying Respects trophy or achievement. Unlocking this achievement also earns you a Finishing Runestone and 30 Renown.
