The Swordfin Eel is an epic fish that appears only on one map: Bahari Bay. More specifically, it only spawns in rivers, not in other water bodies like ponds, lakes, or caves. Much like the Thundering Eel, the Swordfin Eel appears only in the Bahari Bay rivers, starting from Thorny Thicket and flowing through Statue Garden and Proudhorn Pass.

In addition to these spots, the eel also spawns around the Flooded Fortress. While some fish, like the Dawnray, show up only at specific times, the Swordfin Eel can be caught at any time during the day and night.

To catch the Swordfin Eel, head to any of the above-mentioned rivers in Bahari Bay. The eel only appears when you use a specific type of bait: Glow Worms. These can be either purchased from the Fishing Guild Store or crafted using the Glow Worm Farm. Due to the Swordfin Eel’s epic rarity, you may also catch other river fish like the Fathead Minnow, Bahari Pike, and Chub. Be patient—it may take several attempts for the Swordfin Eel to show up.

When casting, reel in the Swordfin Eel after three nibbles and keep the eel within the green bracket. In this way, you will be able to catch a Swordfin Eel and add it to your fish collection.
