Obtaining and equipping pets in Path of Exile 2 allows you to personalize your character and enjoy the company of a loyal companion throughout your journey.
As you explore the perilous regions of Wraeclast in Path of Exile 2, you encounter deadly threats from every corner. While adventuring through the vastlands can be rewarding and thrilling, it can also be daunting, especially when traveling alone. Unless, of course, you have a companion by your side.
Whether you want a travel buddy or simply want to showcase a bit of flair, pets can be a great option. While they don’t have any impact on your gameplay, they are still a nice touch, adding charm to your adventure. Find out how to get pets and how to equip them in Path of Exile 2.

How To Get Pets in Path of Exile 2
Although pets in Path of Exile 2 are purely cosmetic and offer no advantage or benefit, obtaining them is not as easy. Here are the main ways you can earn yourself a loyal companion:
- Path of Exile 2 features 6 different Supporter Packs, which reward players with various benefits, including the early access key and pets. Purchasing any of the Supporter Packs—except the Path of Exile 2 Early Access Supporter Pack—can reward you with unique pets.
- Additionally, you can purchase different pets directly from the game’s store.
- You can also transfer your hard-earned pets from the original Path of Exile to use them in the sequel.
- While the above methods require you to spend your real money, there is also a free way to earn pets—Twitch Drops. Albeit time-limited, Twitch Drops provides a way for you to earn exclusive Path of Exile 2 pets like the Chimera Pet from the Early Access launch Twitch Drops. You can also earn an Azmeri Noble Deer Pet currently as a part of the Dawn of the Hunt Launch Twitch Drops events. Watch Twitch streams for a total of 3 hours during the first week, ending on April 13th at 5 am (PDT).
How To Equip Pets in Path of Exile 2
You can use the pets by equipping them from the Cosmetics tab. Open the in-game shop to access the Cosmetics section, which displays all your owned cosmetic items in your account. Choose your Pet and equip them from there. You can equip up to two pets at a time and watch them traverse along with you everywhere. Although they always stick around you, they won’t engage in combat or provide any stat boost. Additionally, you can release them inside the player’s hideout to watch them freely roam around.
