Path of Exile 2 has only been out for a week and already seems to be doing well. Learn about the game’s player count to know real stats.
Despite being released in Early Access first, Path of Exile 2 had some buzz around it. Usually, we see this buzz translating into a higher player count on graphs. But is that really the case for PoE2?
On Steam, the newly released RPG surpasses several games with great numbers. At the time of writing, there are currently 238,313 players in-game on PC. In fact, the game touched an all-time high among PC players when 578,569 logged in at the same time. This happened on Sunday, December 8, 2024.
This is highly impressive for an RPG game released on December 6, 2024. Moreover, the game is still in Early Access, which is not free-to-play, unlike the planned full release. Fans either have to buy the Early Access or must have spent enough money using microtransactions in the first game to automatically gain this access via an official email.
The peak number of PC players of all time in the first game, released in 2013, was 228,398. So, the game has come a long way with the sequel’s release. Moreover, the true online numbers are still unknown for PoE2 because the numbers we presented above are only for Steam and do not include PlayStation or Xbox players.
Let’s compare these numbers to another hyped game released on the same day!
Path of Exile 2 vs Marvel Rivals: Which One Has the Higher Player Count
The same day that Path of Exile 2 was released in Early Access, Marvel Rivals also had its full release. The game previously had its marketing and beta testing period. Now, all that was left was the hype surrounding it.
Much to the community’s surprise, the game actually stood on business and delivered a satisfying package. NetEase Games saw great numbers since Rivals’ release. However, it couldn’t surpass the player count of Path of Exile 2.
As of now, Marvel Rivals has 206,669 players on Steam. This is nothing compared to the all-time high of 480,990 that the game achieved on Sunday, December 8.
Both these numbers are significantly lower compared to what PoE2 has achieved until now. However, the only drawback is that we don’t yet know the true numbers for either of these games, including console players. Once we have reliable data on it, we will surely update you.
