Once you cross the snowy Alpine level and enter the Caldera biome in PEAK, the heat starts to rise up, both metaphorically and literally. As you enter the burning lands of this zone, the difficulty gets a significant hike. However, this time around, your focus will be more on running than climbing to tackle the flat open surfaces of Caldera, laced with lava and dominated by rising magma and exploding natural hazards. So, here are some tips to survive this harsh land in PEAK.

The Caldera is not like anything you have seen in the previous zones. Unlike the previous terrains, the fiery land ditches the elevated layout and instead incorporates more flat surfaces. It might sound simple enough, but the lava surrounding it and the biome’s natural hazards make things a lot more complicated. Below are some essential tips that will help you make an optimal strategy and escape this level.

Resources Will Be Scarce

Caldera consists of volcanic terrain. So naturally, they will be barren and harsh. That means, resources such as luggage bags will be quite hard to find, and natural items such as medicinal roots or berries will be non-existent. Thus, we highly recommend that you stock up on food and healing items whenever you find them in the Caldera Biome and use them sparingly and wisely. Also, the Pirate Compass can help a lot in this level.

Wait for the Lava To Fall

As we mentioned, the lands of Caldera are filled with lava, and it is not stagnant. The magma around the rocks will rise and fall over time. And once the level gets lower, you will spot some red rocks on the ground. They will be hot and give you burn damage that builds fast. But if you want to journey through the rocky flats, then you will have to walk over the burning red rocks.

Reach the Volcanic Summit

Unlike the biomes you encountered before, Caldera’s terrain is mostly flat. This means, most of the time, you will be running across the lava lands while avoiding falling into the magma or getting by the explosive natural hazard. Other than that, there isn’t much to do at this level, and players should go straight to the Volcano as quickly as possible. Once you reach the peak of it, you will find a statue and a luggage stash to end the day.
