Discover hidden details about the creepy entity in PEAK called the Looker and why it may be stalking the player.

PEAK’s Mesa update introduced a new biome and several flashy additions to the game, from rampaging tornadoes and a scorching sun to spontaneously combusting dynamite and a tomb with a secret.
Under the cover of brightly advertised additions, the developers seem to have snuck in a far more sinister entity. Something which stalks lone Scouts, peeking at them forebodingly from a distance. It is called by many names: the Looker, Orange Scout, or Mimic.

PEAK: The Looker Guide
While the PEAK community isn’t in agreement on what to call it, players are in consensus about what they have experienced in their encounters with the Looker. While playing solo or co-op, the player spots a lone scout spying on them. Before the startled player can reach the creepy humanoid, it hides behind a rock and seemingly vanishes as if it were an apparition.
The Looker Lore

The Looker is one of the lost scouts of the expedition led by Scoutmaster Meyers. It has orange skin and wears a white shirt, a blue sash, and a smile on its face. Much like its horrifying leader, the scout was likely twisted by the occult influences of the island. With cannibalism introduced to PEAK, the Looker may be spying on isolated players to satiate something more than its curiosity.
It isn’t clear what the true nature of the Looker is, whether it is fully human or merely mimicking a scout’s appearance to deceive its unfortunate victims. With future updates and levels beyond the Mesa, we are likely going to see the Looker and the lost expedition’s story expanded upon further.
PEAK: How To Find the Looker

The Looker isn’t a myth or creepypasta made up by the PEAK playerbase but an actual part of the game’s code. The Looker has a 50% chance of appearing in your game, and it can spawn in any biome. However, once the Looker spawns, it won’t appear in that run again.
When it appears, the Looker will always be hiding behind a dome-shaped brown rock. It will peek out from behind the rock and track the player. If a player’s camera observes the Looker for more than 3 seconds, it will lower itself behind the rock and disappear. The Looker will also disappear if the player gets within five meters of it.
If you play the game regularly and remain vigilant, there is a good chance you will see the Looker soon. It isn’t confirmed whether you have to be alone to come across the Looker. However, all the players who have seen the Looker so far have been playing solo.
