How To Unlock the Resourcefulness Badge in Peak

To get the Resourcefulness Badge in Peak, start a game with at least one other player. Then, begin climbing together and don’t eat any food. When hunger depletes over 75% of your stamina bar, your teammates will begin to look like roast chicken. You can then hold the interact button (E) on a teammate to eat them and unlock the Resourcefulness Badge. Teammates will only be visible as roast chicken if they are in close proximity, reverting to their regular character models at a distance.
Consuming a teammate will kill them, and only a skeleton of their character will remain. They can still be revived using Altars, Effigies, and Temples. On the upside, your hunger will be completely fulfilled, giving you the strength to climb on. Once the hunger condition is met and you begin to hallucinate your teammates as roast chicken, you can consume them in any state. They don’t have to be knocked out or unconscious.
Cannibalism in Peak
Although the Resourcefulness Badge was introduced in the Mesa update, Cannibalism was added to Peak earlier, with the 1.10.a patch. The feature now has an achievement attached to it. Interestingly, cannibalism wasn’t in the game at launch, and the developers had no plans to include it.
However, Peak’s wilderness survival themes prompted fans to jokingly clamor for the inclusion of a cannibalism mechanic. Unexpectedly, the developers obliged and added the hilarious feature to the game. Despite its comical origins, dining on your teammates does have some important use cases.
The Kiln biome has hostile conditions and no food growing anywhere. If your team runs out of supplies in the volcanic biome, reaching the end of the level becomes nearly impossible. At that point, if hunger is high and a teammate falls unconscious, using the cannibalism mechanic will allow you to refill the stamina bar and have a fighting chance to complete the run.
