In addition to the new biome, you can take on ten new challenges to earn badges, which each unlock unique cosmetics for your character to wear and show off. This guide covers how to earn the Nomad Badge, one of the ten new badges you can now earn in PEAK.

Unlocking Nomad Badge in PEAK

As mentioned before, Mesa has a 50% chance to appear instead of Alpine, and all you need to do to unlock the Nomad Badge is to climb and reach the top of the region. Once you get to the top of the desert and light the campfire, the Nomad badge is given to you after you end your playthrough by either reaching the Peak or dying in the process.
Note that players have reported that just lighting the campfire isn’t always enough to get the badge. Therefore, it is recommended to step foot into the next biome, which is Caldera.

Tips on Getting Past Mesa in PEAK

Here are some tips to make traveling through Mesa a bit easier in PEAK:
- Keep to the shadows. Staying in the sunlight for too long starts to inflict burn damage.
- Remove spikes from yourself if you come in contact with cactuses. The spikes can take a lot out of your stamina bar.
- Do not approach tornadoes. They can easily pick you up and throw you into nearby cactuses.
- Use the new items like sunscreen and parasols to easily navigate under the harsh sun.
