Pirate Software announced that he will no longer be streaming World of Warcraft on Twitch following a recent controversy regarding the game.
Thor “Pirate Software” has announced that he would no longer stream hardcore World of Warcraft on Twitch. The statement came during his stream on January 17, 2025, just days after he was thrown out of the OnlyFangs guild on January 15, 2025.
Pirate Software has been the subject of controversy because he was accused of “roaching out” and failing to assist fellow guild members during a raid in the game. While he has stated that he could not have assisted his fellow World of Warcraft gamers, the streamer has had to ban thousands of Twitch and social media accounts after allegedly receiving hate raids and death threats.
During his show on January 17, 2025, Pirate Software stated that he no longer “gives a sh*t” about Hardcore World of Warcraft and will no longer stream the game on Twitch. His aggression was clearly visible during the stream as he had been receiving so much backlash. He said,
“Guys, I won’t be playing Hardcore World of Warcraft on stream again. I don’t give a sh*t about any of this stuff anymore.”
Pirate Software Kicked Out From OnlyFangs
Pirate Software explained during the broadcast that he was kicked out of the guild because he threatened to report those who were “sending abusive comments” to him and sending fans to hate raid him.
“What they [OnlyFangs] don’t understand is that meant very few people. There was like one content creator that we actually reported, and actually we have brought that up to three now.”
He said that those reports had been specifically directed at streamers who were sending “communities to attack” him, who wanted to “start beef,” not just those who were reacting or covering the controversy. He concluded stating that it was very “st*pid” of them to do so.
“I get it, but they didn’t look into anything. They just knee-jerked it, which is st*pid, to be honest with you.”
While Pirate Software claimed to have a fairly short list of content creators he wanted banned, his comments about in-game bans were less ambiguous at the time. This may have contributed to what Pirate Software perceives as a misunderstanding. He said:
“All of the accounts that are messaging me are getting reported. There’s a funny fact about this, I worked at Blizzard for seven years. There’s a whole lot of people there who still know me and all of these reports are going directly to them. They’re well aware of the situation, and everyone who is messaging me. They’re going to get read. It’s kind of a dumb*ss thing to do and I can’t wait for all of them to get banned.”
