Chess.com is returning to Twitch with yet another streamer-only chess event on April 29, 2025. PogChamps 6 is the sixth event in the streamer-only chess tournament series featuring some of the biggest content creators on Twitch. The events started in 2020 to cash in on the popularity of chess on Twitch and some of the biggest content creators on the platform, like Ludwig Ahgren, Connor “CDawgVA” Marc Colquhoun, and Rumay “Itshafu” Wang, participating in the event.

PogChamps 6 is featuring Olympic athlete Stephen Nedroscik and footballer Ebere Eze as celebrity competitors. The upcoming event will feature a prize pool of $100,000, and players have to go through a round-robin format and a knockout stage to win the grand prize. Only the top eight players will win a percentage of the prize pool, while the other four players will leave empty-handed.

The upcoming event will be livestreamed on the official Chess.com Twitch channel. A schedule for the event is unavailable, but the official website will announce the matchups and timings in the coming weeks.

All Streamers Participating in PogChamps 6

Ten streamers are participating in PogChamps 6 this year, including returning players like Benjamin “DrLupo” Lupo and Ludwig Ahgren:

  • Benjamin “DrLupo” Lupo
  • Filian
  • Inès “Inoxtag” Benazzouz
  • Linnea “Linzor” Sina Donna Andersson Klemets
  • Ludwig Ahgren
  • Macaiyla
  • Kyle “Mongraal” Jackson

Unlike competitive Chess.com events on Twitch, PogChamps 6 wants to tap into the beginner and casual audiences. To make the competition interesting, the event will implement Time Control rules for quicker matchups. Players will have a limited time to make their moves, making the matches faster and more exciting for viewers who have limited time to watch the event.

Who Are the Celebrity Participants at PogChamps?

The two celebrity contestants at the upcoming PogChamps event are Team USA gymnastics member Stephen Nedoroscik and Crystal Palace F.C. football (soccer) player Eberechi “Ebere” Oluchi Eze. Eze is an attacking midfielder who competes in the Premier League. The player has been part of notable English clubs like Arsenal, Fulham, and Queens Park Rangers.

When the player turned 18, he had the choice to play for the England national team or represent his home country, Nigeria. Eze chose to compete with England at the national level and made his international debut in 2023.

Nedoroscik is an American gymnast known for his pommel horse skills. He is a two-time National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) champion. HNedoroscik rose to fame after winning a gold medal at the 2021 World Artistic Gymnastics Championship (WAGC). He became the first male gymnast from the US to win a world title at the WAGC.

While Nedoscik posts gymnastics-related content on social media, he is not a full-time content creator. Eze is new to the world of livestreaming, and he will interact with a live digital audience on Twitch for the first time at PogChamps 6.

Twitch viewers who want to catch the event live can do so from April 29, 2025, to May 2, 2025, on the official Chess.com Twitch channel. The winner of the event will take home $20,000 out of the $100,000 prize pool, and the rest of the money will be distributed among other players in the top eight based on their rankings.
