Wind and Wave Will Bring New Modes For Pokemon
@CentroLeaks mentioned that Wind and Wave will feature new Pokemon modes. Currently, Charizard, Pikachu, Lumineon, and Machamp have been stated.
Pokemon Wind and Wave Will Have MMO Features
Codenamed “Naia”, Wind and Wave will feature MMO features where players can upload procedurally generated islands they discover to the Naia servers. They will also be able to play with other players. (source)
Pokemon Wind and Wave Boss Pokemon
According to @CentroLeaks, there will be 18 Boss Pokemon challenges, related to each type and based on Sustainable Development Goals. Completing all of them will allow you to challenge the Champion.
Beating Pokemon Wind and Wave and Final Boss
According to @CentroLeaks, you will be able to encounter and defeat the final boss right after getting the ability of traveling the sea. If you are able to defeat the final boss, the credits will roll. This fight will be significantly difficult.
You will also be able to finish the game without beating all gyms or catching the Legendary Pokemon. You will have to do those to get the true ending, according to leaks.
Pokemon Wind and Wave (Gen 10) features
The following Wind and Wave features have been reported by @CentroLeaks:
- Gym Adventure
- Weather Move Acquisition Quest
- Ride License Quest
- MMO Raid Battle
- Pokemon Rescue
- Boss Pokemon
- Pokemon Survival
- Diving
Pokemon Wind and Wave Development Budget
@CentroLeaks stated that Pokemon Wind and Wave has a development budget of 3 billion yen, compared to Legends Z-A’s 2 billion yen and Scarlet and Violet’s DLC of 500 million yen.
Pokemon Wind and Wave Starters
While there is no information currently available regarding the starters, @CentroLeaks mentioned how you will encounter them. Once you have arrived at the island and are going to the hotel, you will come across a traffic jam caused by escaped Pokemon. You will be tasked to catch them. The event would have the starter three run away and the playing having to chase them.
Underwater Exploration
Pokemon Wind and Wave will reportedly have underwater exploration.
This image leaked a few months ago and we purposedly ignored it as we didn't want it to distract from Legends: Z-A.

But it's real. This is Pokémon Winds and Waves. And yes, you can explore underwater. https://t.co/Jd4mG0TTBN
Pokemon Wind and Wave Starting Location
Steering away from the staple of starting in a small town, Pokemon Wind and Wave will reportedly begin in a big resort hotel in a tourist city, according to leaks. Another leak mentioned that the big resort hotel will be designed as an MMO lobby where players can interact with each other and more.
Pokemon Gen 10 Weather Moves
There will be special Weather Moves, described by @CentroLeaks as a “new Power-Up Expression”, which will be taught by a Professor staying at the hotel and acting as a guide for nature classes. The Professor is “studying Pokemon’s weather transformation”.
Pokemon Gen 10 Seed Pokemon
According to @CentroLeaks, we will probably see a new mechanic or a new type of Pokemon called Seed Pokemon. These will be baby Pokemon “of the Seed species that can be found in resort areas”, which can only evolve when taken to the island where the Legendary Pokemon stays. Further, the “evolved appearance is said to have infinite variations”. You will get the Seed Pokemon at the beginning of your adventure.
The Seed Pokemon can be transferred to future titles or Pokemon Champions. It will revert back to its default form when transferred. (source)
Pokemon Wind and Wave Legendary Pokemon
@CentroLeaks provided the following briefs on Pokemon Wind and Wave Legendary Pokemon:
- Package (Storm): The Storm Package Pokémon. Its role is that of an old man. It lives on an island that keeps people away. It possesses the power of the wind to properly guide humans and Pokémon. It accepts only those humans who have correctly raised the Seed Pokémon.
- Package (Wave): The Wave Package Pokémon. Its role is that of an old woman. It lives on an island that keeps people away. It possesses the power of the waves to properly guide humans and Pokémon. It accepts only those humans who have correctly raised the Seed Pokémon.
You will need to level up your Seed Pokemon to be able to enter the Legendary Pokemon’s island. Supposedly, the island is procedurally generated reflecting the level of the Seed Pokemon. (source)
Pokemon Wind and Wave Theme and Inspiration
According to information shared by @CentroLeaks, Pokemon Gen 10 Wind and Wave has “Infinity” as the theme. The tweet also mentioned the following brief:
“This world has endured since ancient times, and it will continue into the future. Past generations entrusted something to the future, we now receive that something and live on, entrusting it to the next generation. Driven by that unseen force, people are propelled forward. People, nature, and Pokémon are connected. What kind of world can we leave for the next generation? Is the world we have now truly something we can entrust to the future? The winds and waves of the times. Storms and whirlpools. The unseen force creates nature, brings forth abundance, and gives birth to peace. The unseen force destroys the environment, breeds pathogens, and spawns conflict. It’s hard to call the modern world a good one. I feel sorry that this is the only world we can leave for our children. If that is the case, then at least I want them to acquire the strength to survive in this harsh world. What kind of world can we leave for the next generation? And what should we pass on to them?
This is the story of parental responsibility and children’s rights, endlessly passed down through every age.
・Play that continues infinitely
・Land that expands infinitely
・Evolution holding infinite potential
@CentroLeaks also mentioned that the developers “are going to procedurally generate new islands, so the region is technically infinite and changes”.
Pokemon Wind and Wave Setting
According to a leak reported by @CentroLeaks, Pokemon Wind and Wave will be set in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. The information contradicts the initial held belief that the next generation will be based on Greece.
