Pokemon GO Fuzzy Buddy Research Day is scheduled for Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. During this period, event-themed Field Research tasks will be available. The event offers an increased chance of encountering Shiny versions of the featured Pokemon.
Featured Pokemon in Pokemon GO
Completing event-specific Field Research tasks will grant encounters with Teddiursa, Cubchoo, Pancham, and Stufful. Each of these Pokemon has an increased chance of appearing in their Shiny form. You can complete multiple tasks to maximize your encounters with these event-themed Pokemon.
Wild Encounters
Several Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild throughout the event. These include:
- Sentret
- Slakoth
- Bidoof
- Minccino
- Bunnelby
Some trainers may be lucky enough to find their Shiny versions while exploring during the event hours.
Paid Timed Research
For US$2.00 (or the equivalent local pricing), trainers can purchase a special Timed Research ticket. This offers additional encounters with one of the featured Pokemon. After completing the first set of tasks, another featured Pokemon can be selected for a second round of Timed Research.
Trainers must complete all Timed Research tasks and claim rewards before 5:00 p.m. local time on March 29, 2025. The Pokemon encountered through Timed Research will have the same chance of appearing as a Shiny as those found through Field Research.

You can purchase Tickets for the Timed Research for personal use or give them as gifts to friends. The recipient must have reached the Great Friends level or higher with the sender. All ticket purchases are final and cannot be refunded, except where required by law. You cannot use PokeCoins to buy tickets.
Additional Information for City Safari Participants
Trainers participating in Pokemon GO City Safari on March 29 will still have full access to Fuzzy Buddy Research Day. From 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, Field Research tasks related to the event will remain available, ensuring that City Safari players do not miss out on event-exclusive encounters.
