The Pokemon Go Fest 2025 has several highlights, including Zamazenta and Zacian. Both of these Pokemon can transform into their superior forms. The game calls them the “crowned” version. You don’t need two of the same Pokemon to “crown” them. Instead, you just need one Zamazenta or Zacian to change their form in the game. Let’s explore how.

Changing Zamazenta and Zacian Forms in Pokemon Go

The steps for changing the form of both of these legendary Pokemon are simple. Even though Zacian turns into Crowned Sword Zacian and Zamazenta becomes the Crowned Shield Zamazenta, their journey is mostly simple. To get started, you must have a Zacian and/or a Zamazenta who know the move Iron Head. This bit is common for both Pokemon, but now the paths diverge as follows:

  • Transforming Into Crowned Sword Zacian – You will need 1000 Crowned Sword Energy and 30 Zacian Candy
  • Transforming Into Crowned Sword Zamazenta – You will need 1000 Crowned Shield Energy and 30 Zamazenta Candy

Once you meet the prerequisite items and requirements, you can simply open the information screen for any or both of these Pokemon. When you have it opened, you can just select the change form button to turn Zamazenta into Crowned Shield Zamazenta and Zacian into Crowned Sword Zacian. The Iron Head move, which was a prerequisite will then turn into Behemoth Bash and Behemoth Blade, respectively.

If you don’t already have “crowned energy” to transform these Pokemon, you can either redeem certain codes or take on raids that grant Crowned Energy. Crowned Sword Energy can only be obtained from Zacian, while Crowned Shield Energy can only be obtained from Zamazenta. Both of these will be available in raids on June 29 and June 28, respectively.
