Getting Dynamax Passimian in Pokemon GO is a short-window opportunity, and if you want it on your team, you’ll need to be prepared. The Alolan fighter last arrived during a special Max Monday event on April 7, 2025. If you missed it, don’t worry. It’s returning from April 14 to April 20, 2025. During this time, you’ll get daily chances to catch it.

How To Get Dynamax Passimian in Pokemon GO

You’ve got two main paths: battle or trade. Let’s go through both so you know exactly what to do.

3-Star Max Battles

Your best shot at catching one yourself is through 3-star Max Battles. These are timed events. On April 7, they ran from 6 pm to 7 pm local time. From April 14 to 20, they’ll be open longer—from 6 am until 9 pm every day.

The battles aren’t too tough if you prepare the right way. Passimian is a Fighting-type with a mix of Fighting and Dark-type attacks. This makes it weak to Psychic and Flying types.

To get the upper hand, here are some options that work well:

  • Gengar (for bulk and versatility)
  • Metagross using Zen Headbutt and Psychic
  • Moltres with Wing Attack and Sky Attack
  • Unfeazant carrying Air Slash and Sky Attack

Once you win, you’ll get a chance to catch it. Here’s what to expect:

  • If the weather is neutral, look for a CP between 1,654 and 1,733 (level 20).
  • If it’s Cloudy, expect 2,068 to 2,166 CP (level 25).

These ranges vary based on IVs. You don’t need to worry too much about the perfect IV unless you’re building it for high-level raids or PvP.

Trade Option

If you didn’t manage to catch it during a raid, you still have another route—trading. Ask someone who caught one to send it your way. But there’s one catch: make sure it’s already in your Pokedex. If it is, then it won’t cost you a Special Trade.

Keep in mind that if Passimian already has Max Moves when traded, those stay. However, any leveled-up Max Moves will revert to level 1.

Can Dynamax Passimian Be Shiny in Pokemon GO

Yes, it can. But the odds aren’t in your favor. You’re looking at a 1-in-64 chance after beating it in a Power Spot raid. You can’t influence the probability, but more raids mean more chances. If you’re shiny hunting, that week-long event window is your time to act. Do as many raids as you can during those hours.

If you’re planning to build Dynamax Passimian for combat, it helps to know what it’s capable of. Its base stats sit at:

  • Attack: 222
  • Defense: 160
  • Stamina: 225

It comes with Fast Attacks like Rock Smash and Counter, and Charged Moves such as Close Combat, Brick Break, Superpower, and Brutal Swing. The Max Moves include Take Down (as Max Strike) and Rock Smash or Counter (as Max Knuckle).

Upgrading Max Moves will cost resources. Level 1 costs 400 MP and 70 Candy. For the max level, you’ll need 800 MP and 50 Candy XL.

Dynamax Passimian has strong value as a Fighting-type, especially before Gigantamax Machamp appears in the game. It matches the standard Dynamax Machamp in performance. If you care about raid strength or team depth, this one is worth keeping.

So if you’re eyeing it, stay ready during those battle hours and coordinate with friends for trade support. The opportunity won’t last long.
