Learn how to catch Pancham in Pokemon GO through wild encounters, Eggs, raids, research tasks, and GO Battle League rewards.
Pancham is a Fighting-type Pokemon that made its debut in Pokemon GO during the Luminous Legends X Part 2 event in May 2021. Over time, it has remained a special find, with its shiny form becoming available in June 2023. Since then, trainers have had limited chances to add it to their collection.
How To Get Pancham in Pokemon GO?
With its current appearance in the Fuzzy Buddy Research Day event, there are multiple ways to encounter it. Understanding these methods will help increase your chances of catching Pancham and even obtaining its shiny version.
If you are looking to catch one, there are five ways to do so. Some methods are more reliable than others, so knowing your options can help.
Wild Encounters
Pancham has only been available in the wild on rare occasions. The last time it could be found this way was during the Pokemon GO Fest 2022. It has not been a regular spawn outside of special events. If you do come across one, its CP will depend on the weather.
- Without a weather boost, its maximum CP at Level 30 is 1,276.
- Under cloudy conditions, it may appear at Level 35 with a max CP of 1,382.
Hatch Pancham From Eggs
One of the most common ways to obtain Pancham is through hatching. It is available in 12 km Eggs, which are earned by defeating Team GO Rocket leaders—Sierra, Cliff, and Arlo.
- Hatch CP ranges from 796 to 850 at Level 20.
Since 12 km Eggs are not as easy to get as standard Eggs, you will need to battle Rocket leaders frequently to collect enough. Make sure to have enough incubators ready before starting your hatching spree.
Find Pancham in Raid Battles
Occasionally, Pancham appears as a one-star raid boss. These battles are easy to win, but knowing its weaknesses can make the fight even quicker. Pancham is vulnerable to Flying-, Fairy-, and Psychic-type attacks.
- Its raid boss CP is 4,328.
- After defeating it, the possible CP ranges are:
- 796 to 850 CP at Level 20 (normal conditions)
- 995 to 1,063 CP at Level 25 (cloudy weather boost)
Checking the current raid pool is a good way to see if Pancham is available. If it is not, waiting for event rotations may be necessary.
Getting Pancham From Research Tasks
Research tasks often feature Pancham as a reward. If you are participating in the Fuzzy Buddy Field Research or the paid Timed Research event, you have a high chance of encountering it.
- CP range for Research rewards: 796 to 850.
Event-based research tasks usually offer better odds of finding rare Pokemon. Keep track of active events to increase your chances of getting Pancham this way.
Earn Pancham Encounters in GO Battle League
Reaching Level 16 in the GO Battle League during Season 22 grants access to Pancham as a potential reward. Every third battle win in a set guarantees an encounter.
- CP range for these encounters is the same as for Egg hatches (796 to 850 at Level 20).
This method requires consistent battling, so it is best suited for trainers who enjoy PVP matches.
Can Pancham Be Shiny in Pokemon GO?
Yes, Pancham’s shiny form is available. Normally, the odds of encountering one are about 1-in-64. However, during special events like Research Day, the chances improve significantly to around 1-in-10.
If a shiny Pancham is what you are after, participating in Research Day events gives the best opportunity.
