Find the starting location for Main Mission 18: A Rogue Mega Banette in Pokemon Legends Z-A and counter the Ghost-type Pokemon.

Following Reaching Rank E and Main Mission 15: A Job for Team MZ!, you are tasked with finding and defeating Rogue Mega-Evolved Pokemon to protect Lumiose City from their rampage. Meet up with Naveen to find Rogue Mega Banette, based on the Mega Power spike it is giving off in the eastern part of the city. Mega Banette is a Ghost-type Pokemon with very few hard counters against it, making the mission’s boss fight particularly challenging.
Pokemon Legends Z-A: A Rogue Mega Banette Guide

Starting Location
The starting point for Main Mission 18: A Rogue Mega Banette is located east of Wild Zone 8, between it and the Pokemon Center north of Wild Zone 6. Fast travel to Wild Zone 8 and move east on Jane Street. Turn right up a flight of stairs to find Naveen standing to your left. Approach Naveen to begin the mission.
Alternatively, fast travel to the Pokemon Center and head west down Jane Street. Take the third passageway on the left to climb a flight of stairs and find Naveen. When the cutscene begins, Naveen is disconcerted as the spike of Mega Power is originating from the site but the Pokemon is nowhere to be found. Soon afterward, a Banette floats into view behind him, surrounded by the purple pulse of overflowing Mega Power.

Rogue Mega Banette Boss Fight
Rogue Mega Banette uses clones during its special attacks to confuse and inflict damage. You can tell clones apart by the small health bars over their heads. Keep running and rolling after Mega Banette charges up and executes its teleporting slashing attack to avoid being hit. If your Pokemon is struck by the Confuse Ray, rotate it out of the fight and bring it back to get rid of the Confused status effect.
Mega Banette is weak to the following elemental moves:
- Ghost
- Dark
The boss is resistant to:
- Bug
- Poison
- Normal
- Fighting
To quickly defeat Mega Banette, you need to field a Mega Pokemon of your own, preferably one with Ghost and Dark-type moves. Pokemon that counter Mega Banette include:
- Absol
- Sharpedo
- Houndoom

A Rogue Mega Banette Reward
After defeating Rogue Mega Banette and completing Main Mission 18, you earn the Banettite Mega Stone. Use this Mega Stone on your own Banette to allow it to Mega Evolve.
You can find Banette in Wild Zone 15 and capture it to add a powerful Ghost-type Pokemon to your roster. When your Banette is holding Banettite, it can evolve into Mega Banette once the Mega Power bar in the bottom right corner of the screen is filled up.
