Pokemon Legends Z-A: A Rogue Mega Starmie Mission Guide
Starting Location

To start the “A Rogue Mega Starmie” mission, you have to first head to the Bleu Sector 9, which is on the southwest corner of the map. As mentioned earlier, you have to defeat Philippe, who is looking down at the Starmie from the rooftops. Fortunately, there is a lift on the southwest wall of the building that you can use to climb up and reach Philippe’s location.
Philippe’s Team
Philippe has a total of four Pokemon on his team, with each ranging from Level 56-57. Here are all of them:
Name | Type | Level |
---|---|---|
Steelix | Steel/Ground | 56 |
Scizor | Bug/Steel | 56 |
Aggron | Steel/Rock | 56 |
Mega Skarmory | Steel/Flying | 57 |
It is recommended to bring strong Ground and Fire Pokemon like Emboar or Tyranitar to easily deal with Philippe’s Pokemon. However, you have to switch those out before you fight Rogue Mega Starmie.

Rogue Mega Starmie Boss Fight

Rogue Mega Starmie is a Level 59 Pokemon and has the Water- and Psychic-typing. It can not only move quickly with its newly acquired legs, but also hit harder than most Pokemon due to its high base stats. However, it does have some weaknesses, including:
- Grass
- Electric
- Bug
- Ghost
- Dark
Therefore, it is recommended to bring Pokemon like:
- Ampharos
- Sharpedo
- Meganium
- Absol
These Pokemon not only have powerful attacks that deal double damage to Mega Starmie, but can also Mega Evolve to gain a significant power boost in battle. However, you still have to be careful of these attacks that Mega Starmie uses during the fight:
- Power Gem: Starmie flies up in the air and slams down on its target. You can dodge the attack by looking at Starmie’s shadow before it drops.
- Water Pulse: Starmie shoots out pulses of water that not only damage, but can also confuse your Pokemon. It is recommended to switch out to a different Pokemon when the one on the field gets confused.
- Psychic: Starmie charges up with energy and rushes rapidly toward its target. You need to roll away immediately after it begins moving toward you.
- Hydro Pump: Starmie shoots out a blast of water at high speed in a single direction. This attack deals the most damage, so avoid it at all costs.
Remember to use Mega Pokemon during this fight, as regular Pokemon won’t be able to deal a lot of damage to Rogue Mega Starmie.
A Rogue Mega Starmie Mission Reward
Once you bring the health of Rogue Mega Starmie down to zero, it faints, and you win the battle. This earns you the Starminite, which is a Mega Stone that allows your Starmie to Mega Evolve during any battle. Moreover, you can now take on the next mission, where you get to reach Rank A.
