Pokemon Legends Z-A’s Lumiose City has a big problem. Rogue Mega Pokemon such as Rogue Mega Venusaur are running about the city, and it is up to you and Team MZ to solve this issue. “A Rogue Mega Venusaur” is one such quest in the game that sends you after Venusaur, kicking off one of the hardest fights in the game.
The fight with Rogue Mega Venusaur is largely difficult due to the Pokemon’s seemingly unpredictable moveset. If this fight has been giving you trouble, or you simply need help with the quest in general, our guide will walk you through it.

Pokemon Legends Z-A: A Rogue Mega Venusaur Mission Guide
Starting Location

You begin your hunt for the Rogue Mega Venusaur by heading to Hotel Z and having a strategy meeting with Lida. She will then tell you of a Rogue Mega Venusaur in Jaune Sector 8 that needs to be taken care of. Wrap up the meeting and exit the hotel.
Head towards Jaune Sector 8, which you’ll find northeast of the Jaune Plaza. To get here, fast-travel to the Pokemon Center in Jaune District and simply dash straight through the park. You’ll find the Pokemon in a gazebo right at the center.

Rogue Mega Venusaur Boss Fight

Rogue Mega Venusaur is weak to the following:
- Fire
- Flying
- Ice
- Psychic
To capitalize on the boss’s weaknesses, we’ll be using the following Pokemon:
- Camerupt
- Charizard
- Houndoom
- Pidgeot
Once the fight begins, you have to watch out for the following attacks:
- Bullet Seed: Venusaur will spit out bullet seeds from its mouth. Start running sideways as soon as you see the prompt on the screen.
- Beam Attack: The boss will stay still for 5 seconds and charge up in a pink aura. As soon as the charge-up completes, it will launch a devastating beam right at you. You have to run sideways across the circumference of the arena to avoid this. Do not stop because Venusaur will track you with its beam.
- Brambles: Venusaur will toss Brambles into the arena. Destroy them quickly because if you let them stay, Venusaur will use them to heal.
- Power Whip: The boss uses vines to attack you at close range.
Rogue Mega Venusaur Mission Reward
After defeating Rogue Mega Venusaur and completing Main Mission 29, you will receive Venusaurite Mega Stone. Venusaur can evolve into Mega Venusaur while holding the Venusaurite Mega Stone. Have Venusaur hold Venusaurite to unlock its Mega Evolution.
