How To Complete A Tune That Beckons Doom Quest in Pokemon Legends Z-A
Unlocking this quest will require you to complete The Future of Lumiose City main mission. Once you do, finish the credits roll to keep playing through the post-game. While the main missions are over, you can continue and complete various side quests. This includes A Tune That Beckons Doom side quest.
Speak With Chante
To start the quest, you need to speak with Chante near Hotel Richissime. You can fast travel to the nearest location and head west from the hotel. You will find her standing on the sidewalk, near a lamp post.
Interact with her and she will say, “In 30 seconds…” but will refuse to complete the sentence until you battle with her.
How to Beat Chante
Chante’s Pokemon have a move called Perish Song. Any Pokemon hit by this move will faint after 30 seconds. However, you can remove this effect by swapping them with a different Pokemon before the timer runs out. Keep this in mind during the battle.
Here is a quick rundown of her team composition:

You can take advantage of Altaria’s weakness to ice-type moves to take it down quickly. However, you still need to build a flexible team to cover the weaknesses of Chante’s team. Absol and Altaria do have a common weakness to Fairy-types.
Not to mention, the Perish Song move can also make things difficult, as you need to switch Pokemon to stop them from fainting. The best you can do is take down her Pokemon in less than 30 seconds. There is an indicator on the right side while the battle is ongoing. This will keep track of how much time you have before the doom effect sets in.
A Tune That Beckons Doom Side Quest Reward
Completing this quest will reward you with coins and the following items:
- 3,400 Pokedollars
- 5x Kasib Berry
- 5x Exp. Candy M
The Kasib Berry is a held item that can reduce the damage taken from super-effective Ghost-type attacks by half their value. Exp. Magic Candy is a consumable that gives EXP points to your Pokemon and helps them level up faster.
