As the name implies, the Battle Zone will have a lot of combat, so be prepared for the same. Here is everything you need to know about the Battle Zone in Pokemon Legends Z-A as a beginner:

Basics of the Battle Zone in Pokemon Legends Z-A

  • The Battle Zone only appears at night and closes when day breaks.
  • There is only one Battle Zone each night, and its position can change.
  • You can fast travel to the Battle Zone when it appears.
  • There are many trainers in the Battle Zone, each with different Pokemon. The levels of these trainer’s Pokemon generally scale to your Z-A Royale Rank.
  • These trainers will attack you if they see you, which will give them an advantage.
  • Conversely, you can ambush trainers to gain the advantage over them.

Rewards from the Battle Zone in Pokemon Legends Z-A

There are three types of rewards you can earn from the Battle Zone. These are Ticket Points, Medals and Poke Dollars. Medals and Ticket Points are earned by defeating trainers in the Battle Zone. Accumulating enough Ticket Points earns you a Challenger’s Ticket. This is required to fight in a Promotion Match and raise your Z-A Royale Rank.

You can also earn Medals the same way; however, these are a temporary currency. Once the Battle Zone closes, your Medals are exchanged for Poke dollars at a high conversion rate.

Bonus Cards Explained in Pokemon Legends Z-A

You can find Bonus Cards throughout the Battle Zone. These basically act as special missions or extra challenges you can complete for more rewards. Picking up these cards gives you special objectives, completing which grants you extra Medals and Ticket Points. You can only hold three Bonus Cards at a time. If you want a fourth, you will have to replace one of the ones you already hold.

Once you have completed the mission on a particular Bonus Card, that card disappears. These cards are one of the best ways to earn more Points and Medals in the Battle Zone.

  • After you defeat some trainers, they will have a yellow text bubble above their heads. Talking to them can give you special benefits, which can include extra Medals, Bonus Cards, a full heal for your team and more.
  • If an enemy trainer spots you, you start the match with a disadvantage. This will prevent you from acting for a while. You can sneak up on and ambush the Pokemon next to these trainers to gain this advantage instead.
  • At the end of the Battle Zone, there is a special multiplier that increases the amount of Poke dollars you get. This multiplier is increased by the number of trainers you defeat. The cap for this multiplier is 2X with 10 trainers defeated.
  • The Bonus Card missions often require you to use moves of many different types. To help with this, keep many types of moves on your Pokemon.
  • If you miss the Battle Zone, or run out of time, you needn’t worry. You can simply head over to a bench and skip time till nightfall to start the Battle Zone again.
  • You can also find Medals lying on the ground all over the Battle Zone (denoted by a yellow glow). Just walk over them to collect them.
