Absol is a Dark-type first introduced in Generation III. While it possesses high physical Attack, the rest of its stats made it an underwhelming pick for the competitive meta. Then, in Generation VI, it received a Mega Evolution which gave it a niche as hazard redirector thanks to its Ability Magic Bounce. So let’s see how Absol’s playstyle translates in Legends Z-A.
Best Absol Moveset in Pokemon Legends Z-A
These are the moves you want to use on your Absol if you plan on using it in battle.
- Swords Dance
- Night Slash
- Play Rough
- Future Sight
Upon Mega Evolving, Absol gets not only a boost in Attack, but in its Special Attack and its Speed. This enables it to act as a better physical attack and also use special coveragel.
Night Slash is the best Dark STAB for Absol, which it learns at level 27. Swords Dance can boost its Attack further, which is also a level-up move at 20. Play Rough is useful Fairy-type coverage against Fighting and Dark-types. Teach the move with TM020, which you get from Jacinthe in the main mission “Reaching Rank B.” Finally, Future Sight is a Psychic-type move that can keep the opponent on their toes. Absol learns this move at level 48.
You get the Absolite after defeating the Rogue Mega Absol in the main mission “Chase That Mysterious Pokemon.”
Best Absol Nature in Pokemon Legends Z-A
Absol can use an Adamant (+Atk, -SpA) nature. This lets it hit harder with its physical moves. You can buy an Adamant mint from a vendor in Rouge Sector 1.

You get an Absol after completing “Chase That Mysterious Pokemon.” Since this is early on, it’s the best way to use an Absol.
