Barbaracle is a Rock/Water-type first introduced in Generation VI. This Pokemon has decent offensive stats as well as access to the powerful boosting move Shell Smash. However, its typing is weakness-laden, with a noteworthy double weakness to Grass. So let’s see if its new Mega Evolution helps Barbaracle a bit better.
Best Barbaracle Moveset in Pokemon Legends Z-A
These are the moves you want to use on your Barbaracle, especially if you are looking to Mega Evolve it later.

- Power-Up Punch
Barbaracle’s biggest issue is solved with its Mega Evolution, with its typing going from Rock/Water to Rock/Fighting. This removes its 4x weakness to Grass. Additionally, it hits much harder, which is a boon in the absence of Shell Smash.
Stone Edge, Close Combat, and Liquidation are all great offensive choices. Barbaracle learns all of them via level up at 50, 45, and 54, respectively. As for its fourth move, Power-Up Punch is a great choice here. Not only does it provide a second Fighting STAB, but it also provides an Attack boost each time it’s used. It can be taught via TM018 to Barbaracle, which is obtained in Wild Zone 9.

Best Barbaracle Nature in Pokemon Legends Z-A
A Jolly (+Spe,-SpA) nature is the best for Mega Barbaracle. As it has a high Attack stat and a means to boost it with Power-Up Punch, improving its Speed is more important. You can get a Jolly Mint from a vendor in Vert Sector 6.
Barbaracle Stats and Location
Binacle, Barbaracle’s pre-evolution, can be found early on in Wild Zone 2. Other locations include Wild Zone 5, Wild Zone 6, Bleu District, Jaune District, Magenta District, Rouge District, and Vert District. Evolve Binacle into Barbaracle at Level 39.
