Camerupt is one of the many Pokemon that are not extremely utilized in the traditional mainline games, but are great in Legends Z-A. The main reason for this is due to the Speed stat is not as valuable in this game, compared to the others.

Camerupt’s main flaw is its reduced Speed stat. However, since Legends Z-A’s new combat system does not place as much importance on Speed, its offensive capabilities are visible. You can make Camerupt a great attacker with the best moveset and nature, as detailed below.

  • Lava Plume
  • Earth Power
  • Stealth Rock
  • Flamethrower

Camerupt is a Fire/Ground-type Pokemon, and this moveset matches this completely. All the above-mentioned moves are strong and will gain Same Type Attack Boost (STAB).

Lava Plume and Flamethrower are two of the stronger Fire-type Attacks. You should prioritize using Lava Plume as much as possible initially. This is because every hit of Lava Plume has a 30% chance to burn the target.

Once the target has been burned, they will have their Attack reduced, and you can then prioritize Flamethrower, which has a higher base power than Lava Plume.

Similarly, Earthquake and Earth Power are extremely strong Ground-type moves. However, the move you should prioritize using will depend on one simple factor: Mega Evolution. While in its base form, Earthquake will deal more damage than Earth Power (assuming equal EVs and IVs invested into Attack and Special Attack).

However, this should not be the ideal way to build your Camerupt. Instead, it is suggested that you prioritize Special Attack. In this case, you can get rid of Earthquake for Stealth Rock.

Best Camerupt Nature in Pokemon Legends Z-A

Camerupt boasts high defenses, with an extremely high Special Attack stat. For the above moveset, it is suggested that you use a Nature Mint and change the Nature for Camerupt into:

  • Quiet (+SpA/-Spe)
  • Calm (+SpA/-Atk)

Camerupt’s Speed is already not winning any competitions. So, you do not have to feel bad while sacrificing it further to boost its Attack stat. However, if the cooldowns feel worse as a result, then you can consider a Calm nature as well.
