The forever iconic Charizard is one of the many Pokemon that appear in Pokemon Legends Z-A. The Fire/Flying Pokemon has been a fan favorite since its introduction for a variety of reasons. It has also remained a fairly powerful Pokemon since the very beginning.
With the limited roster of Pokemon in Legends Z-A, Charizard stands out even more. As a result, the Flame Pokemon is considered one of the strongest options in the game. Here is the best moveset and nature for one of the most iconic Generation One Pokemon.
Best Charizard Moveset in Pokemon Legends Z-A
Charizard is in the unique position of having two separate Mega Evolutions. Both of these specialize in different methods of offense, so both of them have different recommended movesets. The best moveset for Mega Charizard X is:
- Flare Blitz
- Dragon Rush
- Thunder Punch
- Dragon Claw
While Mega Charizard X has lost its ability, it is still better as a Physical Attacker. As such, its moves should be physically focused. With this transformation, Charizard’s type changes to Fire/Dragon, making Dragon-type moves highly recommended.
Flare Blitz is the most powerful Physical Fire-type move, making it perfect for Charizard. Finally, Thunder Punch can be used as a counter against Water-type Pokemon. While Charizard no longer retains its weakness thanks to its new typing, it is still good to have counter-options.
The best moveset for Mega Charizard Y is:
- Fire Blast
- Heat Wave
- Air Slash
- Dragon Pulse
Mega Charizard Y is an all-out Special Attacker and retains its normal typing. Air Slash, Fire Blast, and Heat Wave all receive Same Type Attack Bonus (STAB) from Charizard.
Dragon Pulse, meanwhile, can be used as a counter to Dragon-types, which would normally resist Fire-type moves. If you want, you can replace Air Slash with Hurricane and Heat Wave with Flamethrower, depending on what suits you better.
Best Charizard Nature in Legends Z-A
As stated above, Charizard’s two forms have different attacking styles. As such, the natures that suit them best are also different. The natures best suited to Mega Charizard X are:
- Adamant (+Atk/-SpA)
- Careful (+SpD/-SpA)
The best natures for Mega Charizard Y are:
- Modest (+SpA/-Atk)
- Bold (+Def/-Atk)
