Learn how to use Clefable and its Mega in the Pokemon Legends Z-A competitive scene with information about its moveset and nature.
Clefable is a Fairy type first introduced in Generation I, though it was a Normal-type then. It became a competitive force in Generation VI, where it got its Fairy typing in addition to two excellent Abilities in Magic Guard and Unaware. This made it an amazing support Pokemon that just cannot be knocked out. While there are no Abilities in Legends Z-A, it got a new Mega Evolution.
Best Clefable Moveset in Pokemon Legends Z-A
These are the moves you want to use on your Clefable, especially if you are looking to Mega Evolve it later.
- Moonblast
- Flamethrower
- Moonlight
- Air Slash/ Stealth Rock/ Thunder Wave/ Calm Mind
One of Clefable’s best assets is its vast move pool. This makes up for the lack of any Abilities and its relatively lackluster stats, even after it Mega Evolves. As such, it can run quite a variety of moves, supporting its allies and dealing above-average Special Attack damage.
Moonblast is a level-up move teachable to Clefable at Level 48. Flamethrower is useful for dealing with Steel-types that it struggles to damage. TM062 for Flamethrower is located in Wild Zone 17. For self-healing, Moonlight is available via level up at Level 24.
As for Clefable’s fourth move, this can be customized. Air Slash is a level up move at Level 52 that acts as STAB for Mega Clefable, who gains a secondary Flying-type. Stealth Rock sets up hazards to chip away at your opponents and it, i.e., TM037 can be found in the scaffolding in Magenta Sector 6. TM008 Thunder Wave slows down an opponent and is found early on in Wild Zone 1. Finally TM006 Calm Mind gives you a boost to Special Attack and Special Defense and is a reward from Mable at her research level 26.

Best Clefable Nature in Pokemon Legends Z-A
Mega Clefable can use a Bold (+Def, -Atk) nature which its base form likes to run as well. However, it can feasibly run a Modest (+SpA, -Atk) if it runs Calm Mind as it certainly has the Special Attack to utilize it as a Mega Evolution. You can buy either Mint from the vendor at Rogue Sector 1.
Clefable Stats and Location
Cleffa, which is the baby Pokemon that will eventually evolve into Clefable, can be located in Wild Zone 19, Bleu District, Jaune District, Magenta District, Rouge District, and Vert District. You can also get Clefairy in Wild Zone 19. As for the Moon Stone needed to evolve Clefairy into Clefable, you can pick one up from Wild Zone 16, Bleu Sector 6, Jaune Sector 9, Magenta Sectors 3 and 6, and Rouge Sector 7.
